Best Anime Galaxies Traits [RELEASE]

Wait, you don't need to roll for Traits?

Wondering which traits are best for each unit in Anime Galaxies? While the game shares most of its core mechanics with your typical Roblox Tower Defense experience, there's one interesting twist, and a very welcome one, if you ask me. Instead of endlessly rolling for random Traits and praying to the RNG gods, Anime Galaxies actually lets you choose the ones you want. Read my Anime Galaxies Trait Tier List to learn how the system works, which traits are worth picking, and which ones suit each unit best.

How Traits Work in Anime Galaxies

Unlike most other Anime Tower Defense games, Anime Galaxies takes a rather unique approach to its Trait system. There's no gacha involved, meaning you won't be wasting countless rerolls hoping to land the perfect Trait. Instead, you'll spend Trait Crystals to invest in your units, gradually unlocking access to more powerful Traits.

And the best part? Every time you unlock a new Trait, you get to choose exactly which one you want. No RNG, no wasted rolls, just good old-fashioned progression. Albeit, the grind is still there, as you'll need a whole lot of Trait Crystals to reach Mythic Traits (400 per unit). But I would still argue it's much better this way. Here are the Trait milestones:

  • Add 10 Trait Crystals - Choose a Rare Trait
  • Add 30 Trait Crystals - Choose an Epic Trait
  • Add 100 Trait Crystals - Choose a Legendary Trait
  • Add 400 Trait Crystals - Choose a Mythic Trait

How I Rank Anime Galaxies Traits

I’ve ranked these Traits against the other options within their rarity, based on how much they contribute to a unit’s role. An S-tier Rare Trait obviously won’t compete with an S-tier Mythic. The goal is to help you choose the most useful option at each milestone, whether you’re building a damage carry, improving your support coverage, or keeping Spedwag’s money printer running.

Galactic and Chosen lead the Mythic options because they offer the strongest combinations of combat bonuses. Galactic’s massive 250% damage increase makes it excellent for focusing damage on one powerful carry, but its one-placement restriction is a big downside. You need to weigh that single boosted unit against the combined contribution of multiple copies. Chosen offers a more flexible package: extra damage, shorter cooldowns, and more range without that restriction. Galactic is an outstanding carry Trait, but Chosen deserves its place alongside it.

Bounty Hunter is the specialist pick, particularly for Spedwag. Its 20% increase to farm income directly improves his main job, while cheaper placement and upgrades help your economy get moving. That makes it a priority for your farm unit even though it sits in A tier overall. Wrath goes in B because its biggest advantage depends on fighting bosses. It has a clear purpose on a dedicated boss killer, but its smaller bonus against regular enemies makes it less versatile across an entire stage.

Among Legendaries, Hyper Speed gets my top spot because attacking more frequently improves sustained damage and helps units reach attack-count triggers sooner. A 22.5% cooldown reduction translates to roughly 29% more attacks over time, assuming the unit can keep attacking. That is particularly useful for abilities such as Stork’s Soul Wolves and Goju’s Reversal Burst. However, faster attacks do not shorten separate, fixed passive cooldowns, so the benefit depends on the kit.

Marksman and Disaster are strong alternatives with more specific applications. Marksman’s extra range can cover another section of the path, extend a support unit’s reach, or give a damage dealer more opportunities to attack. Its value depends heavily on the map and your placement. Disaster provides a substantial damage increase against enemies below 40% health, making it useful for finishing tougher targets, but it contributes nothing while they remain above that threshold. Perceptive is a leveling tool: the extra XP is useful during progression, but it offers no immediate combat bonus and loses its purpose once the unit reaches its level cap.

For Rare and Epic Traits, Enraged is my straightforward default because its damage increase also benefits abilities that scale with the unit’s damage, including timed damage effects. Dedicated remains a very close alternative for sustained basic-attack DPS, especially at Epic rarity, and can be the better fit for units built around attack-count passives. Their mathematical difference is small enough that the unit’s mechanics should decide the choice.

Finally, Sniper earns A tier because useful coverage can be worth more than another small damage increase. Extra range helps when enemies are slipping out of reach or a support unit needs to cover more teammates. Choose the Trait that improves the unit’s job: damage for your carry, useful attack frequency for trigger-based kits, range where coverage matters, and Bounty Hunter for your farm.
