As of UTDX Update 2.75, there are 14 unique Relic Sets in the game, each with its own unique set of bonuses. Grinding them isn't exactly easy, which is why it's essential to know what each set buffs and which units benefit from it the most. To help you with that, we've put together our Universal Tower Defense X Relics Set Tier List!

Universal Tower Defense X Relic Set Tier List - Best Relics

There are currently 14 Relic Sets in Universal Tower Defense X, and they are one of the most important systems for powering up your units. Relics come in several rarities (Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, and Raid) with higher-rarity Relics unlocking more levels, stronger stats, and additional substats.

Relic Sets in UTDX are built around Top, Bottom, and Accessory relic pieces. Matching a Top and Bottom relic from the same family activates that set’s main bonus, while Accessory relics can add a separate bonus. Raid-style sets can also gain extra value from tag perks when equipped on matching units. With that in mind, let's check out our Universal Tower Defense X Relic Set Tier List for Update 2.75:

Relic Set Bonuses Evaluation

Rebellious Shinobi

S+ Tier
Rebellious Shinobi Relic Set UTDX

Stats / Buffs / Set Bonuses

  • Top + Bottom: When this unit applies any crowd control effect, gain 30% extra damage for 10 seconds.
  • Accessory: When this unit swaps form/mode, permanently increase that placed unit’s damage by 5%, stacking up to 6 times.
  • Ninjaverse tag: +20% Element Damage, +15% Crit Rate, +20% Crit Damage.
  • Sage tag: +15% Element Damage, +20% Hyper Armor Damage.
  • Bloodline tag: +15% Element Damage, +15% Damage, +20% Range.

Evaluation

One of the strongest Relic sets overall. It rewards units that already apply crowd control and becomes even better on form-swap or mode-swap units because the Accessory bonus can build permanent damage. The tag perks are also stacked with high-value offensive stats, making this a premium late-game DPS/control set.

Biju Set

S+ Tier
Biju Relic Set UTDX

Stats / Buffs / Set Bonuses

  • Top + Bottom: +10% Damage and +20% Meter Gain.
  • Accessory: When a meter bar is used, increase damage by 70% for 10 seconds.
  • Limit: The Accessory damage buff does not stack.

Evaluation

A burst-damage monster for meter-based units. The baseline +10% Damage is already useful, but the real value is the +20% Meter Gain feeding into a massive 70% damage window. Best for late-game DPS units that can reliably use meter bars during boss waves or important damage checks.

Super Roku Set

S+ Tier
Super Roku Relic Set UTDX

Stats / Buffs / Set Bonuses

  • Full Set: +10% Damage and +15% Crit Chance.
  • Extra condition: +20% Damage if the unit is placed within range of a Saiyan unit.
  • Accessory: 5% chance to stun enemies on attack.

Evaluation

Excellent for crit-focused DPS and Saiyan-centered setups. The set is already strong without the conditional bonus, but it becomes elite when you can activate the Saiyan-range damage boost. The stun chance adds extra utility, making it valuable for both damage and wave control.

Great Mage

S+ Tier
Great Mage Relic Set UTDX

Stats / Buffs / Set Bonuses

  • Top + Bottom: +10% Range and +20% Damage for 10 seconds when this unit hits with type advantage.
  • Accessory: If this unit takes down an enemy it has type advantage against, gain +40% Damage and -20% Cooldown for 10 seconds.
  • Limit: The Accessory effect is not stackable and has a 10-second cooldown.

Evaluation

Premium when you can play around type advantage. Since elemental advantage already matters in UTDX, Great Mage is extremely strong on the right stage or matchup. It is less universal than pure stat sets, but its damage and cooldown payoff makes it one of the best specialized bossing and stage-clearing sets.

Reaper Relic Set

S Tier
Reaper Relic Set UTDX

Stats / Buffs / Set Bonuses

  • Full Set: -7.5% Cooldown and +15% Range.
  • Accessory: -7.5% Cooldown and +15% Range.
  • Peroxide tag: +10% Damage, +5% Buff Potency, +8.5% Crit Damage.
  • Reaper tag: +20% Hyper Armor Damage, +12.5% Armor Penetration, +15% Range.
  • Rage tag: +25% Crit Damage, +10% Crit Rate, +10% Range.
  • Hollow tag: +12.5% Damage, -7.5% Cooldown, +15% Range.

Evaluation

A very strong tempo and coverage set. Cooldown reduction and range are useful on almost any attacker, and the tag perks can push the set much higher on matching units. It is especially good for units that need better uptime, larger coverage, or raid/boss pressure through Hyper Armor Damage and Armor Penetration.

Shadow Reaper Set

S Tier
Shadow Reaper Relic Set UTDX

Stats / Buffs / Set Bonuses

  • Full Set: +2.5% Damage, +10% Range, +5% Crit Rate, +5% Crit Damage.
  • Accessory: +2.5% Damage, +10% Range, +5% Crit Rate, +5% Crit Damage.
  • Peroxide tag: +10% Armor Penetration, +15% Hyper Armor Damage, -10% Cooldown.
  • Reaper tag: +30% Elemental Damage, -12.5% Cooldown, -5% Damage.
  • Rage tag: +15% Elemental Damage, -8.5% Cooldown, +10% Buff Potency.
  • Hollow tag: +20% Crit Rate, +12.5% Crit Damage, +5% Hyper Armor Damage.

Evaluation

A strong hybrid stat set with excellent tag scaling. The base bonuses are broad and easy to use, while the tag perks can turn it into a powerful elemental, crit, cooldown, or armor-breaking option depending on the unit. Best on matching tagged units, but still serviceable as a general DPS set.

Bio-Android Set

S Tier
Bio Android Relic Set UTDX

Stats / Buffs / Set Bonuses

  • Full Set: +10% Damage, +5% Range, -5% SPA, +5% Crit Rate, +15% Crit Damage.
  • Accessory: Deal +10% Damage to enemies under 50% HP.

Evaluation

One of the cleanest all-purpose DPS sets. It improves damage, range, attack speed, crit rate, and crit damage at the same time, then adds an execute-style bonus against enemies below half HP. Great for bossing and late waves where finishing high-HP enemies matters.

Berserk Shinigami

S Tier
Berserk Shinigam Relic Set UTDX Kenpachi Relics

Stats / Buffs / Set Bonuses

  • Top + Bottom: +10% Dark, Fire, Rose, and Light Damage.
  • Accessory: Every 5 hits buffs the next attack to deal extra 20% True Damage, ignoring all resistances.

Evaluation

Excellent for multi-hit or frequent-attacking elemental DPS units. The elemental boost is narrower than universal damage, but the True Damage proc is valuable because it bypasses resistances. Strong in bossing and resistant-enemy situations if the unit can trigger the 5-hit cycle consistently.

Reanimated Ninja

S Tier
Reanimated Ninja Relic Set UTDX

Stats / Buffs / Set Bonuses

  • Top + Bottom: +10% Damage and +30% DoT Damage.
  • Accessory: Every 5th attack gains DoT Damage equal to the unit’s range for 10 seconds.
  • Scaling rule: 1 Range = 1% DoT Damage.
  • Limit: The Accessory effect does not stack.

Evaluation

The dedicated DoT set. It is excellent on units whose damage profile already leans into burn, bleed, poison, or other damage-over-time effects. It is less universal than raw DPS sets, but on a proper DoT unit with good range, the Accessory scaling can become very meaningful.

Sun God

S Tier
Sun God Relics Set UTDX

Stats / Buffs / Set Bonuses

  • Top + Bottom: +5% Damage and +10% Light, Water, and Ice Damage.
  • Accessory: Every 6 attacks, the unit gains a damage buff equal to its range for 7 seconds.
  • Scaling rule: 1 Range = 1% Damage buff.

Evaluation

A powerful range-scaling DPS set. Sun God is especially good on Light, Water, and Ice units, but the Accessory is the real prize because it converts range into a temporary damage buff. Best on units with strong range values and steady attack cycles.

Laughing Captain

A Tier
Laughing Captain Relic Set UTDX Luffy Relics

Stats / Buffs / Set Bonuses

  • Top + Bottom: +5% Damage, -5% Cooldown, and +5% Range.
  • Accessory: Active Ability Cooldown -5%.

Evaluation

A simple but useful generalist set. It improves the core combat loop without needing tags, type advantage, meter, or specific mechanics. It is best on units that care about active ability uptime, but its numbers are more modest than the top-tier burst and scaling sets.

Ex Captain

A Tier
Ex Captain Relic Set UTDX Urahara Relics

Stats / Buffs / Set Bonuses

  • Top + Bottom: +10% Critical Rate and +25% Critical Damage.
  • Accessory: Refunds 5% of yen spent on upgrade.

Evaluation

A good crit set with an economy side bonus. The Top + Bottom perks are useful for crit-scaling DPS units, while the Accessory refund can help with upgrade costs. However, because the Accessory is economic rather than combat-focused, it is more practical than meta-defining.

Hokage

A Tier
Hokage Relic Set UTDX

Stats / Buffs / Set Bonuses

  • Top + Bottom: +5% Damage and +10% Dark, Rose, and Fire Damage.
  • Accessory: Every 5 attacks, increase DoT Damage by 20% for 10 seconds.

Evaluation

A solid elemental DoT option. Hokage works best on Dark, Rose, or Fire units that also benefit from DoT boosts. It is useful on the right unit, but its ceiling is more restricted than Reanimated Ninja because its DoT bonus is smaller and its elemental coverage is specific.

Junior Ninja

A Tier
Junior Ninja Relic Set UTDX Kid Naruto Relics

Stats / Buffs / Set Bonuses

  • Top + Bottom: +5% Damage and +10% Wind Damage.
  • Accessory: Increase buffs received by 1.1x.

Evaluation

A support-synergy set rather than a raw carry set. Junior Ninja is best on Wind units or units that are regularly receiving external buffs. Its value depends heavily on the team around it, so it can be useful in coordinated buff setups but is less impressive as a standalone DPS option.

How Relics Work in UTDX: Main Stats, Substats, Rarity & Levels

Relics in Universal Tower Defense X are divided into five rarity tiers: Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, and Raid. As the rarity increases, Relics gain access to more upgrade levels and a higher number of substats, making high-tier Relics significantly stronger for endgame builds.

Rare Relics can roll 1 substat and level up to 6 times, while Epics support up to 3 substats and 9 levels. Legendary Relics expand that further with 4 possible substats and a maximum of 12 upgrade levels, whereas Mythic Relics can reach 15 levels and unlock up to 5 substats.

Raid-tier Relics function differently from all other Relic rarities because they use a separate star progression system. They can drop as 1-Star, 2-Star, or 3-Star variants, while Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic Relics do not use stars at all.

Another unique mechanic tied to Raid Relics is their Tag Bonus system. Certain Raid sets are linked to specific tags, such as Peroxide. When a unit shares the same tag as the equipped Relic Set, it activates additional effects and bonuses. For example, matching tags can grant buffs like increased elemental effectiveness, including effects such as dealing +30% damage against enemies your unit is naturally effective against.

Universal Tower Defense X Relics themselves are also divided into three equipment categories: Top, Bottom, and Accessory. Equipping multiple pieces from the same Relic Set activates set bonuses. For instance, using both a matching Top and Bottom piece can unlock additional effects such as bonus damage increases.

UTDX Relic Rarities, Levels, and Substats

Higher-rarity Relics can reach higher levels and unlock more substats. Raid Relics are special because they also use a star system.

Raid 1–3 Stars

  • Levels Same stat scale as Mythic, modified by star rating
  • Substats Same as Mythic baseline
  • Special Can have tag bonuses

Mythic Best Regular

  • Max Level 15
  • Substats Up to 5
  • Use Best non-Raid stat ceiling

Legendary High Tier

  • Max Level 12
  • Substats Up to 4
  • Use Strong before Mythic upgrades

Epic Mid Tier

  • Max Level 9
  • Substats Up to 3
  • Use Useful progression relics

Rare Starter

  • Max Level 6
  • Substats 1
  • Use Early-game relics

How Relic Slots and Set Bonuses Work

Relics are divided into Top, Bottom, and Accessory pieces. Set bonuses depend on matching relic families.

Top + Bottom Set Bonuses

Equipping a Top and Bottom Relic from the same family activates that Relic family’s set bonus. These bonuses can include effects such as +10% Damage, cooldown reduction, elemental damage, DoT bonuses, range bonuses, or other family-specific effects.

Accessory Relic Bonuses

Accessory Relics are a separate slot and can provide their own special effect. Depending on the Relic family, this can include extra damage, cooldown reduction, buff scaling, stun chance, refund effects, or other unique bonuses.

Raid Tag Bonuses

Raid Rarity Relics can have tag bonuses. If a Relic has a tag such as Peroxide and it is equipped on a unit with the matching Peroxide tag, that unit gains the related tag bonus.

Elemental Damage

Elemental damage applies when your unit is effective against the enemy. If the unit has the advantage, it deals +30% Damage against that enemy.

Relic Main Stats at Level 15

Each Relic slot has its own possible main stats. These are the Level 15 values.

Top Relics

Raid Relic Star Chances and Stat Bonuses

Raid Rarity Relics are the only Relics with a star system. Their star rating determines whether they match or exceed Mythic stat values.

Raid Star Rating Chance Stat Value What It Means
1-Star Raid Relic 80% Same stats as Mythic Relics The most common Raid Relic outcome. It matches Mythic stat scaling but still benefits from Raid Relic tag mechanics.
2-Star Raid Relic 15% +2.5% stats above Mythic Relic stats A stronger Raid Relic roll that beats regular Mythic Relic stats while keeping Raid tag-bonus potential.
3-Star Raid Relic 5% +5% stats above Mythic Relic stats The rarest and strongest Raid Relic outcome. This is the best stat ceiling for Relics when the tag bonus also matches the unit.

You can unlock Universal Tower Defense X Relics perks by upgrading Relics using Power Ups. Every three Power Ups give you a chance to roll a new perk, though the upgrade can fail. Because of that, unlocking new Sub-Stat perks requires a bit of luck.

Universal Tower Defense X Relics FAQ

What are Relics in Universal Tower Defense X?

Relics are one of the main progression systems in UTDX. They provide additional stats, substats, and powerful set bonuses that can significantly improve a unit’s DPS, utility, survivability, or overall effectiveness.

How do you obtain Relic Sets in UTDX?

Most Relic Sets in Universal Tower Defense X are obtained through specific game modes, raids, events, or endgame activities. Raid Relics, in particular, are usually tied to Raid content and late-game progression systems. Different sets are designed around different mechanics and tags, so players often grind specific content depending on the type of Relic Set they want to farm.

What is the best Relic Set in UTDX?

There is no single “best” Relic Set for every unit because different sets are designed for different playstyles and roles. Some sets are better for raw DPS, while others specialize in cooldown reduction, support utility, elemental synergy, or farming efficiency.

How do Relic Set bonuses work?

Set bonuses activate when you equip multiple pieces from the same Relic Set. For example, equipping a matching Top and Bottom Relic from the same set can unlock extra bonuses such as increased damage or utility effects.

What are the different Relic rarities?

Relics are divided into Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, and Raid rarities. Higher-rarity Relics unlock more upgrade levels and additional substats, making them much stronger for late-game and endgame builds.

What makes Raid Relics different?

Raid Relics are unique because they use a star system instead of normal rarity progression. They can appear as 1-Star, 2-Star, or 3-Star versions and often include special Tag Bonuses that synergize with specific unit tags.

Can every unit use the same Relic Set?

Technically, yes, but it is usually inefficient. Different units benefit from different stats and effects, so the best Relic choice depends on whether the unit is a DPS carry, support, farm, crowd-control, or hybrid unit.
