This Clover RPG tier list brings our race, grimoire, trait, and weapon recommendations into one place. Lesser Angel and Lesser Demon lead the race rankings, while Light and Wind are our current top grimoire picks. Weapons depend heavily on your chosen category, and traits should support the attacks and defensive tools you actually use. Read on to learn all you need to know before starting.
The Ultimate Clover RPG Tier List
Each section ranks options within its own system. For weapons, placements are relative to the Light, Medium, or Heavy category. For traits, the focus is on useful purchases for the appropriate build. Rarity, selling price, and impressive names don't earn a higher placement by default (mostly). Here's how I rank stuff on my Clover RPG Tier List.
- S Tier: Leading picks with standout benefits or particularly strong build potential.
- A Tier: Excellent alternatives with a meaningful trade-off or narrower role.
- B Tier: Useful options that depend more on your build, progression, or circumstances.
- C Tier: Lower combat priority, starter equipment, or options to replace as you progress.
Best Races in Clover RPG
Lesser Angel is the broadest recommendation, while Lesser Demon has the strongest physical-damage ceiling. Dark Elf and Elf are excellent caster choices, especially when your priority is spell damage or Mana efficiency.
Choose around your main source of damage. Lesser Demon’s ceiling matters much less to a character that rarely lands melee hits. Likewise, Elf’s Mana discount does little for a build that spends most of its time attacking with a weapon. Human also deserves one correction that is easy to miss: its 15% bonus applies to selling items, not buying them.
| Tier | Races and Best Uses |
|---|---|
| S | Lesser Angel: Broad survival value through once-per-life lethal-damage protection, +10% Magic Resistance, and +40 Energy. Spirit users also gain faster contract progression and longer Spirit Dive duration. Lesser Demon: Leading physical-build candidate. Wrath Unbound can reach 25% extra physical damage through consecutive melee hits without being hit, supported by physical resistance, Health, and Devil bonuses. |
| A | Dark Elf: A direct caster upgrade with 5% more spell damage, 10% more Mana regeneration, and +10 Energy. Elf: Spells cost 15% less Mana, with +20 Energy alongside the discount. Particularly useful when running out of Mana limits your fights. |
| B | Eldritch: Consistent 2.5% extra physical damage, +10 Health, and +2 Max Resolve. Its placement could improve if the Resolve bonus crosses important combat thresholds. Dryad: Nature's Grace offers temporary health regeneration when wounded, alongside +10 Energy. Its healing strength and activation rules remain the deciding questions. |
| C | Human: Earns 15% more from selling items and has improved NPC negotiation and persuasion. Useful economic perks, but no direct combat bonus in its current package. |
Best Grimoires in Clover RPG
For this Clover RPG grimoire tier list, we are ranking the spell kits associated with each magic attribute. These placements do not establish rankings for separate grimoire upgrades or other progression systems.
Light and Wind lead the current list. Light has a broad offensive toolkit plus blindness and ally-healing options. Wind connects its aerial playstyle to a concrete Mana discount. Time’s 1% roll chance does not automatically make it the best grimoire. The key questions are how reliably it restricts enemies and what Rewind actually restores.
Flame and Shadow are also worth keeping if their playstyles suit you. Flame directly ties into weapon pressure, while Shadow could improve substantially if Tendril creates dependable openings. One passive that doesn't contribute to Flame’s ranking is Shattering Ember, because its description explicitly marks it as unimplemented.
| Tier | Grimoires and Best Uses |
|---|---|
| S | Light: Versatile attacks, mobility, Blindstrike's blind application, and Divine Field's ally healing give it several ways to contribute. A leading all-rounder and group-play candidate. Wind: Aerial movement and displacement backed by 30% cheaper Wind spells while airborne. Strong synergy between its playstyle and resource efficiency, provided you manage positioning well. |
| A | Time: Promising control and recovery potential. Keep in mind that my ranking of Time is based on an educated guess rather than first-hand experience, as I still need to pull it Beast: A clear close-range identity, with advancing attacks and melee pressure. Its consistency against moving opponents remains more important than how impressive a dummy combo looks. Lightning: Mixes a straight beam, close-range attacks, and explosive knockdowns. It has almost all you need in one package. |
| B | Flame: Amplified Wrath rewards M1 attacks against burning targets. Alternate spell casting and execution protection add value, but reliable burn application and follow-ups need testing. Shadow: Nighttime spell damage and an alternate Void Beam offer useful options. Shadow Tendril's actual restraint and follow-up freedom will determine how threatening its setups are. |
| C | None currently. No grimoire has enough demonstrated weaknesses to justify calling it a poor pick outright. |
Clover RPG Trait Tier List
Traits need a slightly different approach. You unlock them through requirements and point investment, so the question is whether a particular trait earns its place in your build. The table below ranks a selection of the most useful traits we have covered, rather than pretending every utility perk belongs in a universal combat ranking. S-tier traits are high priorities for the builds or activities named alongside them.
| Tier | Traits and Best Uses |
|---|---|
| S | Mob Slayer: A straightforward PvE priority with 10% more damage to mobs. Whether every boss qualifies still needs confirmation. Arcane Rebound: Restores Mana through successful parries or dodges. A strong caster option that rewards good defense. Graceful Escape: Increases dodge frames by 10%. A broadly useful defensive upgrade for characters already investing in Agility. |
| A | Weapons Expert: Excellent early value for weapon progression, granting 50% faster proficiency gain for one point. Its value falls after the relevant progression is finished. Liver Shot / Follow Through / Deceptive Momentum: Strong Misdirect-build options for damage, movement, and another roll after landing the attack. Critical Aerial: Gives aerial M2 a block-breaking role. Particularly interesting when your weapon has a reliable aerial attack. Iron Rebound / Unyielding Bastion: A promising defensive chain against repeated ragdolls. Include prerequisite costs when planning the build. Mana Skin / Tempered Body: Straightforward protection against magical or physical attacks, respectively. Useful, but expensive at six points each. |
| B | Rapid Recovery / Strong Core: Situational recovery and protection after things go wrong. Rapid Recovery also unlocks the route toward Iron Rebound. Crippling Fakeout: A Misdirect slow that could help maintain pressure. Its strength depends on the slow's actual duration and severity. Dirty Casting / Glass Cannon: Specialist caster picks for opening damage or penetration. Their value depends on your rotation, stat allocation, and unresolved damage calculations. Potion Savant / Mad Alchemist: Better potion effectiveness and faster drinking. Worth considering if consumables are a regular part of your fights. Hyper Adrenaline / Survivor's Fury: Defensive and offensive bonuses below 25% health. Useful backup effects, but a risky foundation for an entire build. |
| C | Superiority Complex: Gives 5% more damage against opponents using the same magic. A narrow matchup bonus and a lower general purchase priority, though it becomes more relevant when mirror matchups are frequent. |
Some useful traits sit outside that combat-focused shortlist. Lucky Miner suits frequent mining, Bargain Master improves merchant selling prices, Tailwind speeds up broom travel, and Pick-Me-Up reduces item losses on death.
Bounty Hunter deserves special caution while leveling. Its supplied description says PvE experience is halved and the change is irreversible. We do not have enough information about its benefits to recommend taking that penalty casually. Resolve-related traits also remain outside this ranking until the meter’s behavior and the wording of those effects are clearer.
Best Weapons in Clover RPG
Clover Gauntlets are the biggest statistical outlier among Light weapons. Balmung leads Medium weapons in listed damage, while Widowbane brings excellent reach and scaling. Heavy builds have a particularly close comparison between Mournblade, Ceremonial Greataxe, and Bone Reaper.
These placements compare damage, range, proficiency scaling, and the available Speed values. Weapon-specific attacks could still move individual entries considerably. Keep in mind that I still need to test all these weapons and see their specific interactions. For now, these are my early rankings based on educated guesses.
| Tier | Weapons by Category |
|---|---|
| S | Light Clover Gauntlets, Bloodthorne, Luminous Thorn Medium Balmung, Purple Widowbane, Red Widowbane Heavy Mournblade, Ceremonial Greataxe, Bone Reaper |
| A | Light Elderthorne Medium Blue Mystbloom Staff, Pink Mystbloom Staff, Dragnipur, Skullspire Blade, Wayfarer's Scimitar, Cinderblade, Purple Hachiman, Red Hachiman Heavy Elkstrider, Wanderer's Edge, Primeval Battleaxe, Executioner's Axe, Highland Axe |
| B | Light Arachne's Venom Fang, Skullsplitter, Winding Thorn, Bronze Ironclad Gauntlets, Rose Ironclad Gauntlets, Eldrean Sickle Medium Katana, Gold Trishula, Silver Trishula, Vulcan's Spear, Kamo Spear, Vulcan's Cutlass, Assembly Blade, Eldritch Staff Heavy Carnage Cleaver, Splinterspike, Buster Sword, Vulcan's Greatsword, Mourning Edge, Claymore |
| C | Light Assembly Fang, Vulcan's Knife, Vulcan's Rapier, Dull Dagger, Dull Gauntlets, Dull Rapier Medium Legendary Kata, Novice Blade, Rustic Spear Heavy Dull Longsword |
If you aren't sure why I rank these weapons in this way, a few comparisons explain the top placements:
- Clover Gauntlets: 18 damage and 7 scaling at proficiency requirement 5. They substantially outperform the supplied Ironclad Gauntlet stats while matching their range and Speed.
- Balmung: The highest listed Medium damage at 17, supported by 6 scaling.
- Widowbane: Both variants combine 9.5 range with 7 scaling, giving them a strong case for spacing-focused play.
- Ceremonial Greataxe: The roster’s highest listed damage at 23.
- Mournblade: Only one damage behind Ceremonial Greataxe, with the same scaling and range but a higher Speed value.
- Bone Reaper: Joint-highest range at 10 and the highest Heavy Speed value, making it a promising alternative to maximizing individual-hit damage.
Elderthorne versus Luminous Thorn is especially close. Elderthorne loses one damage but has a higher Speed value. Their practical attack timing could easily change that order.
Eldrean Sickle’s placement is also tentative because its listed range of 4 is unusually low. That value needs confirmation.

Clover RPG Tier List FAQ
Lesser Angel is the broadest recommendation, thanks to its survival passive, Magic Resistance, and Spirit benefits. Lesser Demon is the leading physical-damage candidate when you can maintain consecutive melee hits without taking damage.
Light and Wind lead our current grimoire rankings. Light offers versatility and team-support potential, while Wind combines aerial play with cheaper airborne spellcasting. Exact matchups and damage testing could still change their positions.
Weapons Expert is a useful early purchase for weapon progression. Mob Slayer is a strong PvE option after meeting its kill requirement. Later choices should follow your stats and playstyle, particularly Arcane Rebound for casters and Graceful Escape for Agility builds.
There is no confirmed universal winner. Clover Gauntlets, Balmung, Widowbane, Mournblade, Ceremonial Greataxe, and Bone Reaper are among the strongest candidates in their respective categories.
No. B tier includes useful specialists and options whose strongest interactions still need testing. Flame’s M1 synergy, Shadow’s setup potential, and Eldritch’s Resolve bonus all deserve more investigation before dismissing them.
And that's about all I currently have to say in my Clover RPG Tier List. These rankings give you a starting point for building a character. The biggest changes are likely to come from confirming weapon movesets, trait interactions, and the exact behavior of the less-tested grimoire kits.
