Clover RPG Race Tier List – Best Races

Being born lucky helps. Being born with a second chance at surviving lethal damage helps considerably more.

Lesser Angel is my top pick in this early Clover RPG race tier list because it combines lethal-damage protection, Magic Resistance, extra Energy, and Spirit-related bonuses. However, the best race for your character also depends on which progression path you follow and what your build actually needs. If you want to know which race is the best in Clover RPG and how to reroll your race, check out my guide.

How I Ranked the Races in Clover RPG

My rankings favor meaningful benefits that fit useful builds, with separate consideration for progression speed and lasting combat strength. A passive that helps you complete a contract faster serves a different purpose than one that keeps improving your character afterward.

Lesser Angel takes the lead because its advantages span several areas. Dark Elf and Lesser Demon offer more focused reasons to choose them. Elf and Eldritch have useful foundations, while Human is simply bad and it's not even worth taking into consideration.

Tier Races and Ranking Explanation
S
Lesser Angel Roll chance: 2% Strong all-rounder; survival and Spirit synergy
  • Divine Retribution is the big selling point. Once per life, a lethal hit instead triggers regeneration of 15% of your health. That gives you a chance to recover from a mistake that would otherwise end the fight. Follow-up damage can still be a problem; this does not establish an invulnerability window.
  • +10% Magic Resistance and +40 Energy round out an excellent defensive package. The resistance is especially relevant against spell-heavy opponents, and Angel has the largest Energy bonus among these races. Energy should not be counted as extra Mana.
  • Heavenbound adds lasting Spirit value. Faster Spirit Contract progression helps you get there, while longer Spirit Dive duration remains useful after that progression is finished.
  • My broadest S-tier recommendation. Its survival tools do not require a melee streak or a particular magic. Spirit users get the clearest extra payoff, but you do not need that route to appreciate surviving a lethal hit.
Lesser Demon Roll chance: 2% High-ceiling melee damage; Devil synergy
  • Wrath Unbound earns the move to S tier. Each melee hit landed without being hit adds 2.5% physical damage, up to 10 stacks. That gives it a stated ceiling of 25% extra physical damage, a much bigger offensive payoff than the other races.
  • Clean pressure matters more than reckless trading. Reliable melee strings and good defense suit this passive. Faster attacks could help build stacks, but hit-registration rules still need testing. Beast's melee-looking spells should not automatically be counted as qualifying hits or physical damage.
  • +5% Physical Resistance and +20 Health give it useful protection in close fights. Flame is an interesting pairing because Amplified Wrath also rewards M1 pressure against burning targets, although the bonuses' stacking formula remains unverified.
  • Hellsworn improves Devil progression and mode duration. That strengthens an already appealing melee package. Its S-tier placement reflects the ceiling of a well-played physical build; a caster who rarely lands melee hits will get much less from it.
A
Dark Elf Roll chance: 10% Reliable spell damage and Mana sustain
  • Spellcaster grants 5% more spell damage without needing a hit streak, low health, or a specific matchup. It is a straightforward offensive pick for a character that does most of its work through magic.
  • +10% Mana Regen helps between casts, with +10 Energy alongside it. The regeneration bonus is most valuable when Mana availability limits your rotation. It will not fix long cooldowns or spells that keep missing.
  • A strong fit for sustained casting. Wind's cheaper airborne spells and Arcane Rebound's Mana recovery offer additional ways to support that playstyle. The racial regeneration bonus does not automatically increase Arcane Rebound's restoration.
  • Pick it over Elf when damage is the priority. Dark Elf improves spell damage directly; Elf stretches your Mana further through cheaper casts. Dark Elf's damage bonus should not be assumed to increase healing from effects such as Light's Divine Field.
Elf Roll chance: 20% Efficient spellcasting; strong value for Mana-hungry builds
  • World Tree's Blessing moves Elf into A tier. Spells cost 15% less Mana, a direct combat benefit that makes it much more appealing than the old reputation-focused description suggested.
  • The saving applies as you spend. A spell that normally costs 100 Mana would cost 85 before other modifiers. That can leave room for another cast during a fight, with no need to wait for regeneration. Elf also receives +20 Energy.
  • Wind is an obvious pairing to investigate. Aerial Efficiency already reduces airborne Wind spell costs by 30%. Both perks support efficient casting, but do not assume their reductions add up to 45%; the stacking rules need confirmation.
  • An easy race to keep for a dedicated caster. It can be preferable to Dark Elf when running dry is your main problem. If Mana is rarely an issue, however, the cost reduction has less impact than a direct damage bonus.
B
Eldritch Roll chance: 10% Consistent physical damage; Health and Resolve utility
  • Corrupt Physique adds 2.5% physical damage without requiring a streak. It is a smaller bonus than Lesser Demon's potential payoff, but it remains available when a fight gets messy.
  • +10 Health and +2 Max Resolve give it more than a damage perk. The Resolve bonus could be important at specific combat thresholds, though its exact practical value remains a major testing question.
  • A sensible fit for physical and Misdirect builds. Strength investment and traits such as Liver Shot support that direction. Exact stacking still needs checking, and the physical bonus should not be extended to every spell that happens to look like a punch or slash.
  • A dependable B-tier option with room to rise. Its damage bonus alone is modest. If the extra Resolve consistently changes important combat outcomes, Eldritch could deserve a higher placement.
Dryad Roll chance: 6% Recovery and sustain potential
  • Nature's Grace briefly improves health regeneration when wounded. Its appeal is recovering damage over time, making it a candidate for drawn-out fights and repeated PvE encounters.
  • You still need room to recover. Spacing, defensive play, and opportunities to disengage could help you benefit from the regeneration. It does not offer Angel's explicit protection against a lethal hit.
  • +10 Energy is a useful addition, but the healing carries the race. Pacifist could complement recovery between encounters, though its out-of-combat regeneration bonus should not be assumed to multiply Nature's Grace.
  • B tier remains provisional. Healing amount, duration, activation rules, cooldown, and behavior during combat will decide whether this is meaningful sustain or a fairly small safety net.
C
Human Roll chance: 50% Merchant income and NPC interactions
  • You sell items for 15% more. An item normally worth 100 sells for 115 before other modifiers.
  • Useful for turning spare loot into money. Players who regularly sell unwanted gear can get ongoing value from it. Bargain Master offers a similar selling bonus, but their combined total needs testing before calling it a 30% increase.
  • Entrepreneur improves negotiation and persuasion with NPCs. That could add progression value, but specific dialogue benefits, checks, or rewards are not established. It is not a basis for promising universal shop discounts.
  • C tier for combat, not useless overall. Human has no direct damage or survival bonus in this perk set. Keep it if you value the income, but a combat-focused build gets more immediate help from the races above.

How to Reroll Your Race in Clover RPG

To change your race in Clover RPG, you need a Race Reroll. You can buy one for 325 Essence, trade for one, or get lucky with a drop from the Gladiator boss. Race Rerolls are also available from certain merchants. Keep in mind that Essence is a premium currency you can only buy in the Shop with Robux (real money).

Rerolling gives you another random race, so you aren’t guaranteed an upgrade. Human has a 50% roll chance, while Lesser Angel and Lesser Demon each have just a 2% chance. If you already have a race that suits your build, consider keeping it until you have spare rerolls. A useful racial perk is worth more than chasing a Legendary you might not get.

Which Race Should You Keep or Reroll?

Keep Lesser Angel, obviously, as it is by far the best race in the game. Its package offers many advantages, with added appeal for Spirit-focused progression. Keep Dark Elf when resource recovery is your problem, and keep Lesser Demon when you intend to pursue Devil contracts. They address different priorities, so their shared tier does not mean they are interchangeable. Elf is a sensible progression to keep. Eldritch deserves a closer look at Resolve before any replacement decision.

Important Mechanics That Could Change These Rankings

There are a few aspects I'm still uncertain about, either because I haven't tested them yet or due to a lack of information. Once I learn more, I will likely make significant changes to the tier list. Here are some details that are not clearly stated, which is why I'm unsure about how they work:

  • Divine Retribution: Its health calculation, protection against follow-up damage, and exact once-per-life reset conditions.
  • Spirit Dive: How much Heavenbound extends the mode and how that affects actual uptime.
  • Resolve: Which actions depend on it and whether Eldritch’s extra point crosses an important threshold.
  • Energy: Its action costs and relationship, if any, with other resources.
  • Resistance: How general and type-specific bonuses are calculated and combined.
  • Progression benefits: The size of contract and reputation bonuses, plus the value of the rewards they accelerate.

And there you have it! That's about everything I have to say for now. Of course, this is just my initial Clover RPG tier list, and as I spend more time with Clover RPG and get a better understanding of its mechanics, intricacies, and overall balance, I'll keep revisiting and updating my rankings. For now, consider this a starting point rather than the final verdict.
