This Bizarre Lineage beginner's guide covers everything new players need to progress fast — from controls and stats to Stands, Fighting Styles, Sub Abilities, Raids, and Stand Awakening. You create a custom character, unlock powerful Stands using Stand Arrows, combine Fighting Styles with Sub Abilities (Specs), and build unique loadouts through perks and cosmetics. With 17 Stands, four Raid bosses, and a deep stat system, there's a lot to take in, so use this guide to build a strong foundation from day one.

Bizarre Lineage Progression Priority Guide

Before diving into individual systems, here's the order you should prioritize things when starting out in Bizarre Lineage. Following this roadmap will save you hours of wasted grinding:

  1. Learn the controls and keybinds — especially Block [F], Dash [Q], Evade [G], and Stand Abilities [E, R, Z, X, C, V].
  2. Get your first Stand — use a Stand Arrow from your inventory. Farm more from quests, ground spawns after Meteor Shower World Events, and chests early on.
  3. Level Health first, then Strength and Power until you roll a Legendary Stand — then pivot to Destructive Power and Destructive Energy.
  4. Train Conjuration at the gym mat to unlock your Stand's full ability kit as fast as possible.
  5. Complete quests for XP, Stand Arrows, and Raid access — quests are your main early-game progression engine.
  6. Reach Level 50 to unlock Stand Awakening — this is the most important mid-game milestone in Bizarre Lineage.
  7. Start Raids as soon as possible — talk to Yoshikage Kira. Raid Tokens become extremely valuable for late-game upgrades.
  8. Unlock a Fighting Style and Sub Ability to complete your combat build.
  9. Prestige once you hit max level to access the Prestige Shop and unlock additional Stand Storage slots.

Best Stats to Level Up First in Bizarre Lineage

Bizarre Lineage has six character stats that affect your fundamental combat attributes. You level these up through regular progression. Here are all the stats in the game and what they do:

  • Strength: Increases your character's Physical-based attack damage.
  • Health: Increases your character's maximum health points.
  • Power: Increases your character's Sub-Ability Damage and maximum Power.
  • Weapon: Increases your character's Slash and Weapon Damage.
  • Destructive Power: Increases your character's Stand's Physical-based attack damage.
  • Destructive Energy: Increases your character's Stand's Special Ability damage.

The best stat to level up first is Health to make sure you have enough HP to survive tougher fights and boss encounters. Then invest in Strength and Power one of the better Stands, which is when you pivot to leveling Destructive Power and Destructive Energy to maximize your Stand's damage output. Hold off on Weapon unless you specifically plan to run a weapon-based build.

How to Get Stand Arrows in Bizarre Lineage

Stand Arrows are the primary way to unlock and reroll Stands in Bizarre Lineage. Each time you use one, you receive a random Stand based on rarity odds. There are four ways to farm Stand Arrows:

  • Ground Spawns — Stand Arrows randomly spawn around Morioh Cho after Meteor Showes. Walk around the map, especially near bus stops and landmarks, and interact with them to pick them up.
  • Quests — The best early-game source. Completing NPC quests rewards Stand Arrows alongside XP and other items.
  • Chests — You get these after completing Quests as well as World Events. The Deathmatch event for example will give you a Legendary Chest for better rewards/
  • Redeeming Codes — Active Bizarre Lineage codes will give you freebies, so make sure to check our codes page regularly to never miss one.

There is also a special variant called a Lucky Arrow. Unlike regular Stand Arrows, a Lucky Arrow does not give you a new Stand — instead, it applies a random Stand Skin to cosmetically change a Stand's appearance. You can obtain Lucky Arrows from Legendary Chests as a drop reward, or spend Raid Tokens at the Raid Store to buy them directly.

Note: You are limited to holding two Stands at a time unless you increase your Stand Storage. If you use a Stand Arrow without storing your current Stand first, it will be permanently replaced. Always go to Stand Settings → Stand Storage → Store Stand before rerolling.

Stand Conjuration – How to Unlock Stand Abilities in Bizarre Lineage

Conjuration is your Stand's progression meter — it determines which abilities are unlocked and available to use in combat. Every Stand starts with limited moves, and you unlock the full moveset by raising your Conjuration level through gameplay. Here are all the ways to increase Conjuration fast:

  • Training at the gym mat — The fastest and most consistent early-game method. Find the gym near the second bus stop and train here regularly.
  • Defeating NPCs and enemies — Every enemy you defeat contributes a small amount of Conjuration progress.
  • Completing quests — Quest completions also reward Conjuration progress alongside XP and other items.
  • Winning PvP fights — PvP victories grant Conjuration progress as well.

Tip: Make the gym mat your first stop every session. It's the single most efficient way to unlock your Stand's full ability kit, especially in the early game.

How Stand Awakening Works in Bizarre Lineage

Bizarre Lineage Stand Awakening is the most important mid-game milestone in the game. It unlocks at Level 50 and allows you to push your Stand's stats beyond their normal cap, significantly increasing your combat power. Here's how it works:

  • Reach Level 50 through questing, defeating enemies, and PvP combat.
  • Once eligible, trigger Awakening by winning a special Awakening battle. Completing it raises your Stand's stat cap.
  • Further Awakenings require higher Conjuration levels, so keep grinding Conjuration between Awakening milestones.
  • Use the Stand Awakening / Ultimate keybind [H] in combat to activate your Stand's Ultimate once it's unlocked.

Awakening is what separates early-game players from mid-game players. Make reaching Level 50 your first major goal after securing a solid Stand and leveling your core stats.

How Raids Work in Bizarre Lineage

Raids are boss fights against powerful characters inspired by the JoJo universe. There are currently four Raids in Bizarre Lineage, and they are one of the best sources of high-value rewards in the game. Start Raids as early as possible — the tokens you earn become extremely valuable for late-game upgrades.

How to access Raids: Talk to Yoshikage Kira in Morioh Cho to unlock and enter Raid fights.

What Raids reward:

  • Raid Tokens — Spend them at the Raid Store to purchase Stand Stat Essences, accessories, and perks that significantly boost combat performance in both PvE and PvP.
  • Stand Arrows — Raid completions drop Stand Arrows, giving you more chances to reroll for higher-rarity Stands.
  • Cosmetics and Weapons — Each Raid also rewards cosmetic items and weapons for further character customization.

Note: Cosmetics in Bizarre Lineage apply both a buff and a debuff, so choose them to match your build rather than purely for appearance.

All Fighting Styles in Bizarre Lineage & How To Unlock Them

Fighting Styles add a second combat layer in Bizarre Lineage and serve as a complement to your Stand rather than a replacement. You can unlock a Fighting Style and combine it with your chosen Sub Ability (Spec) to create a full build that matches your preferred playstyle — aggressive melee, ranged, or support.

Each Fighting Style includes three unique active moves and also changes the animations of your basic M1 and M2 attacks. To unlock Fighting Styles, find specific NPCs around Morioh Cho. The map is large — use the bus system to fast travel between numbered bus stops. Below are all Fighting Styles, their moves, and exactly where to unlock them:

Tip: Don't rush Fighting Styles in the very early game. Focus on securing a solid Stand and leveling your core stats first. Some of the NPC spawns for the Fighting Style quests can also be bugged, which is why it's not worth the frustration early in the game. The story questline will guide you toward Fighting Styles naturally, attempting them too early will get you overwhelmed.

All Sub Abilities (Specs) in Bizarre Lineage & How To Get Them

Sub Abilities — also called Specs — grant 3 additional active abilities, unique dodge visuals, passive buffs, and altered dash effects. Unlike Fighting Styles, Specs do not change your M1 attack animations. You unlock them through NPC interactions or by using specific items. There are currently four Sub Abilities available in Bizarre Lineage:

Sub Ability (Spec)MovesHow To Get
Hamon (Ripple)Sunlight Yellow Overdrive, Sendo Ripple Overdrive, Scarlet OverdriveTalk to the Ancient Ghost near the 13th bus stop and complete his quest to unlock abilities.
CyborgUltraviolet Radiation Apparatus, Missile Volley, Machine GunTalk to Rudol von Stroheim near the 3rd bus stop and complete his quest to unlock abilities.
VampireSpace Ripper Stingy Eyes, Leeching Terror, Flash FreezeUse a Vampire Mask item, then talk to the Elder Vampire in Dio's Chapel and complete his quest to unlock abilities.
SpinRicochet, Cyclone Breaker, CorkscrewTBA

Best Sub Ability for beginners: Hamon (Ripple) is the most beginner-friendly Spec — it's straightforward to unlock, well-rounded, and pairs well with most Stands and Fighting Styles. Vampire is more powerful but requires a Vampire Mask item to unlock and has a higher skill ceiling.

The Stand system is the core of Bizarre Lineage — your Stand defines your combat style, progression speed, and overall build potential. There are 15 Stands in total across five rarity tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, and Mythical. You unlock Stands by using Stand Arrows, which give a random Stand based on rarity odds. Each Stand's full moveset is unlocked progressively by raising your Stand Conjuration level. For a full ranking of every Stand by PvP and PvE performance, see our Bizarre Lineage Stands Tier List. Bizarre Lineage Prestige Explained

Once you reach the maximum level in Bizarre Lineage, you unlock the option to Prestige. Prestiging resets all of your levels and requires a cost, but in return, unlocks access to the exclusive Prestige Shop.

Inside the Prestige Shop, you can purchase powerful boosts, quality-of-life improvements, unique cosmetics, and additional Stand Storage slots — letting you hold more Stands at once without paying Robux. However, Prestiging comes with a trade-off: you will need to replay both PvP content and story missions from the beginning. Your Stands and their progress carry over, so your core combat power is retained. Most players recommend Prestiging only after fully maxing your current Stand and unlocking Stand Awakening.

Bizarre Lineage Beginner's Guide – FAQ

How do I get my first Stand in Bizarre Lineage?

Use a Stand Arrow from your inventory to receive a random Stand. You get your first Stand Arrow early in the game through the starting quest. After that, farm more Stand Arrows from ground spawns around Morioh Cho, completing NPC quests, looting chests, and redeeming active codes.

What stats should I level up first in Bizarre Lineage?

Level Health first to survive tougher fights and boss encounters. Then invest in Strength and Power until you roll a Legendary Stand. Once you have a Legendary or Mythical Stand, switch focus to Destructive Power and Destructive Energy to maximize your Stand's damage output.

How does Stand Awakening work in Bizarre Lineage?

Stand Awakening unlocks at Level 50. Once you reach that level, you can trigger an Awakening battle — winning it raises your Stand's stat cap beyond its normal limit. Further Awakenings require higher Conjuration levels. Use the [H] keybind in combat to activate your Stand's Ultimate once it is unlocked through Awakening.

What is Conjuration and how do I level it up fast?

Conjuration is your Stand's progression meter that determines which abilities are unlocked. The fastest way to level Conjuration is by training on the gym mat near the second bus stop. You also gain Conjuration progress by defeating enemies, completing quests, and winning PvP fights — but the gym is the most efficient method, especially early on.

How do I start Raids in Bizarre Lineage?

Talk to Yoshikage Kira in Morioh Cho to access Raids. There are currently four Raids in the game. Completing them rewards Raid Tokens (spent at the Raid Store for powerful upgrades), Stand Arrows, cosmetics, and weapons. Start Raids as early as possible since Raid Tokens become very valuable in the late game.

What is the best Sub Ability for beginners in Bizarre Lineage?

Hamon (Ripple) is the best Sub Ability for beginners. It is straightforward to unlock — talk to the Ancient Ghost near the 13th bus stop and complete his quest — and it pairs well with most Stands and Fighting Styles. Vampire is more powerful but requires a Vampire Mask item to unlock and has a significantly higher skill ceiling.

How do I unlock a Fighting Style in Bizarre Lineage?

Fighting Styles are unlocked by finding specific NPCs around Morioh Cho. Boxing is taught by the Boxing Coach near the 2nd bus stop (inside the Gym upstairs). Karate is taught by the Karate Sensei near the 15th bus stop by the Hospital. Kendo is taught by the Samurai Master near the 15th bus stop inside the Kame Yu Market. Use the bus to fast travel between stops.

Can I lose my Stand in Bizarre Lineage?

Yes. If you use a Stand Arrow without storing your current Stand first, it will be permanently replaced. You can only hold two Stands at a time. Always go to Stand Settings → Stand Storage → Store Stand before using another Stand Arrow. Additional storage slots can be unlocked by Prestiging or purchased from the in-game Shop with Robux.
