What is the Best Bucket in Drain the Lake
The best F2P bucket in Drain the Lake right now is the Golden Bucket (gives extra tokens and gems). That said, there are 10 different Buckets that you can use in Drain the Lake. Each one offers different buffs, including increased token earnings, higher base bucket capacity, increased fill speed, and more.
So, the best bucket can change depending on what you want to achieve during a specific run. Read on to see the best bucket for specific scenarios:
- For beginners, the Magnet Bucket and the Toilet Bucket are both good upgrades from the Plastic Bucket.
- If you want to farm Gems, use the Golden Bucket or the Ancient Bucket. The Ancient Bucket is obtainable for free, while the Golden Bucket costs 2,000 Gems, but it is 100% worth it, especially if you are a F2P player. If you don’t have the required Gems, use the Ancient Bucket, as it will help you get the required amount faster.
- Use the Shark Bucket or the Dragon Bucket for speed running/fast clears. The Shark Bucket can scoop 3x water, and the Dragon Bucket increases your token earnings. Both these buffs will allow you to max out your Upgrades quickly to speed run the game in any difficulty level. But the Shark Bucket is currently unobtainable, and the Dragon Bucket is Robux-only.

How to Get the Ancient Bucket in Drain the Lake
To get the Ancient Bucket in Drain the Lake, you need to:
- Earn 10 Badges
- Join the Drain the Lake Roblox Community
After completing both these steps, go towards the Ancient Bucket to the left of the Badges NPC and interact with it to claim your Ancient Bucket. Once you click on Claim, go to the Buckets NPC, scroll down to find the Ancient Bucket, and click on Equip to start using it.
Note: The Ancient Bucket is currently bugged. Even if you complete the Badges requirement and join the group, you can’t claim the bucket yet. The devs are working on fixing this bug.
What Upgrades To Choose First in Drain the Lake
After you unlock the Computer, you get access to Character Upgrades (swim speed, swim stamina, and walk speed), Bucket Upgrades (bucket capacity, bucket fill speed), Drain Upgrades (water drains faster), and Richer Gem Upgrades (get more gems and tokens).
At the start of your run, you want to focus on Quick Drain Upgrades and Richer Gem Upgrades. Both of these will help you earn Upgrade Tokens quickly, which you can then start investing in Bucket Capacity Upgrades. Higher Bucket Capacity will allow you to carry more water per run. - Earn Drain the Lake Badges (every Badge gives a random amount of gems).
- Complete the game (each time you find the phone, you’ll get a random amount of gems depending on the difficulty selected).
