What is new in The DTI Summer Update?
Before we dive into the main event of this summer, the Style Showdown, let's first take a look at some of the changes the developers made to the mechanics. Here's a quick summary of what's new:
- The voting punishment has been removed (except for the Master server).
- New accessory/adjustment gizmo.
- New Seasonal Challenges in Style Showdown.
- Vote penalty removed (except for the Master server).
- 2x Baddie Pass XP when above level 10 will make leveling easier.
- Style Showdown rounds will give Baddie Passes.
- New Charlie's Wings.
The Seasonal Style Showdown Challenges
Style Showdown now offers new rewards, but the main hype is the seasonal challenges, which include a game that clearly inspired Squid Game. If you're not sure which one we're talking about, then let's ring some bells.
Red Light, Green Light
This game mode will add a greater challenge in the dressing room. Players have to craft an outfit, but cannot move a muscle when the light turns red. Not only do players lose more time by standing around, but they also get stunned if they do move when the light turns red.
Out for Lunch
Looking for a real challenge? Imagine what would happen if Lana went out for lunch and closed her salon. You can't customize the nails, hair, or face makeup. It's tricky, but try to be as creative as possible with what you have.
Desaturate
In this game mode the colors will gradually fade until you're left with a black and white screen. You won't tell which colors the items are (unless you have a good memory of every single item in the lobby), and upon editing you won't be able to tell which color you're using, but again, it's all about getting creative.
Mystery Theme
The theme will look scrambled when the round starts, and players will have to figure out what it is. The title will gradually shift until the name is revealed, but by then, there won't be enough time to create an outfit. Try to identify the theme as quickly as possible.
New Rewards in Style Showdown
Seashells are the new must-have in DTI because players can exchange them for new clothing items. However, they're usually unlocked via the Baddie Pass, but here's a new way to get more. By participating in Style Showdown, you can now earn EXP and exchange them for Seashells. Another way to obtain 300 Seashells instantly is by competing in Style Showdown for 10 rounds.
When is The Summer Quest?
The new DTI summer quest will be released on Saturday, July 26th. We're just as excited to see what new challenges will await players as well as the rewards that are always satisfying to get after finishing a quest. Let's hope we also get more Lana lore.
