What is the Style Showdown in Dress to Impress?

One of the biggest additions in this update is a new competitive game mode called Style Showdown. While details are still limited, official teasers have hinted at mechanics such as:

  • Double elimination – Suggesting two eliminations per round.
  • Immunity idol – A possible way to protect yourself from elimination.
  • Vote reveal – Indicating that player votes might be shown.
  • Speed round – Likely meaning shorter, fast-paced matches.

A teaser video shows Lana herself walking the runway, which strongly hints that she’ll be the host of this mode. If you prefer the classic Dress to Impress experience, don’t worry—Style Showdown will be a separate mode, so you can still play the original version whenever you want.

Changes and New Items Coming with the DTI Valentine's Update

Themes

The Valentine’s update doubles the number of themes currently in Dress to Impress, adding over 200 new ones to the game. While we don’t yet have a full list, some are expected to be inspired by Valentine’s Day. With so many new themes to explore, expect even more creative and unique outfit prompts to challenge your styling skills.

Environment

Both the main lobby and VIP room are being redesigned in this update.

  • All items in these areas have been reorganized, improving accessibility and reducing clutter.
  • The general layout and design of both spaces have been revamped for a more streamlined look.

If you’re used to where everything was before, it may take some time to get familiar with the changes, but the goal is to make navigation easier and more intuitive.

Posing

Once you've started a theme and paired up with a friend in your server, you know that you need to make a statement on the runway. Right now, you can already pose with a friend, but the Valentine’s update is bringing a major refresh to how this system works. The new version will introduce more detailed and interactive poses, making duo modeling feel more expressive than ever. While we don’t have specifics yet, this update should make posing a bigger part of the competition.

Items

The Valentine’s update will also introduce a mix of brand-new fashion pieces and redesigned older items. So far, we know that these new items are confirmed:

  • Makeup/faces: 1. Kiss mark makeup, 2. Smokey-eyed masc face, 3. Crying masc face, 4. Masc face with a heart-shaped beauty mark, 5. Vampire fem face, 6. Crying fem face, 7. Cat-eyed Asian fem face, 8. Winking fem face with tongue between teeth.
  • Mustaches.
  • A bonnet.
  • Dress sets: 1. A pink and blue dress that gives off serious mermaid vibes, 2. A cupid-themed set with a pink corset top (potentially with a cloud to sit on), and 3. A black and red outfit with a corset top and devilish vibes.
  • Fishnet tights for masc models.
  • Poses: 1. Blowing a kiss with pink hearts, 2. Valentine's pose pack trio.
  • Valentine's fabric patterns, including pink leopard print, silky pink fabric with diamantes, and a red rose pattern.
  • A pink lyre and a blue bow/arrow set (both of which seem to be special items and could be from a code or a quest reward).

Some older items are also being reworked for a fresh look, including the entire denim bottom set, the Mary Jane shoes, and a shoulder bag from the VIP section.

Lana Lore

During a Developer Q&A video, Manager/Writer Umoyae confirmed that this update will expand on Lana’s story. If you’re following Dress to Impress lore, you won’t want to miss this update! Umoyae also stated that this event is bigger than the Winter update but not as massive as the Halloween update.

Are the Seasonal Storage Chests Coming in the DTI Valentine's Update?

In early January, Community Manager BeaPlays revealed that the team is working on a way to store seasonal items in themed chests instead of scattering them around the map. Here’s how it would work:

  • Each season will have its own chest (e.g., Valentine’s, Winter, Halloween, etc.).
  • After an event ends, items will move to their respective chests, keeping them organized.
  • These chests will be decorated to match their season and will be easy to find.
  • This will reduce lag by preventing excessive items from cluttering the main map.
  • Only seasonal items from 2025 onwards will be stored this way—older items will remain on the map.

Although this system is planned for the future, it’s unclear if it will be ready for the Valentine’s update. The update is already packed with content, so it might be too soon for the chests to make their debut.

Once the update is live, we’ll update this guide with any new Lana lore quests and more details about Style Showdown, so be sure to check back!
