What is the Style Showdown in Dress to Impress?

One of the biggest additions in this update is a new competitive game mode called Style Showdown. While details are still limited, official teasers have hinted at mechanics such as:

  • Double elimination – Suggesting two eliminations per round.
  • Immunity idol – A possible way to protect yourself from elimination.
  • Vote reveal – Indicating that player votes might be shown.
  • Speed round – Likely meaning shorter, fast-paced matches.

A teaser video shows Lana herself walking the runway, which strongly hints that she’ll be the host of this mode. If you prefer the classic Dress to Impress experience, don’t worry—Style Showdown will be a separate mode, so you can still play the original version whenever you want.

Changes and New Items Coming with the DTI Valentine's Update

Themes

The Valentine’s update doubles the number of themes currently in Dress to Impress, adding over 200 new ones to the game. While we don’t yet have a full list, some are expected to be inspired by Valentine’s Day. With so many new themes to explore, expect even more creative and unique outfit prompts to challenge your styling skills.

Environment

Both the main lobby and VIP room are being redesigned in this update.

  • All items in these areas have been reorganized, improving accessibility and reducing clutter.
  • The general layout and design of both spaces have been revamped for a more streamlined look.

If you’re used to where everything was before, it may take some time to get familiar with the changes, but the goal is to make navigation easier and more intuitive.

Posing

Once you've started a theme and paired up with a friend in your server, you know that you need to make a statement on the runway. Right now, you can already pose with a friend, but the Valentine’s update is bringing a major refresh to how this system works. The new version will introduce more detailed and interactive poses, making duo modeling feel more expressive than ever. While we don’t have specifics yet, this update should make posing a bigger part of the competition.

Items

The Valentine’s update will also introduce a mix of brand-new fashion pieces and redesigned older items. So far, we know that these new items are confirmed:

  • Makeup/faces: 1. Kiss mark makeup, 2. Smokey-eyed masc face, 3. Crying masc face, 4. Masc face with a heart-shaped beauty mark, 5. Vampire fem face, 6. Crying fem face, 7. Cat-eyed Asian fem face, 8. Winking fem face with tongue between teeth.
  • Mustaches.
  • A bonnet.
  • Dress sets: 1. A pink and blue dress that gives off serious mermaid vibes (Valentine's event quest reward), 2. A cupid-themed set with a pink corset top and pink skirt, and 3. A black and red outfit with a corset top and devilish vibes.
  • A cloud that players can sit on (use code CUPIDSCLOUD before March 1, 2025 to redeem).
  • Fishnet tights for masc models.
  • Poses: 1. Blowing a kiss with pink hearts, 2. Valentine's pose pack trio.
  • Valentine's fabric patterns, including pink leopard print, silky pink fabric with diamantes, and a red rose pattern.
  • A pink lyre and a blue bow/arrow set (both of which are VIP items).

Some older items are also being reworked for a fresh look, including the entire denim bottom set, the Mary Jane shoes, and a shoulder bag from the VIP section.

Lana Lore

During a Developer Q&A video, Manager/Writer Umoyae confirmed that this update will expand on Lana’s story. If you’re following Dress to Impress lore, you won’t want to miss this update! Umoyae also stated that this event is bigger than the Winter update but not as massive as the Halloween update.

Are the Seasonal Storage Chests Coming in the DTI Valentine's Update?

In early January, Community Manager BeaPlays revealed that the team is working on a way to store seasonal items in themed chests instead of scattering them around the map. Here’s how it would work:

  • Each season will have its own chest (e.g., Valentine’s, Winter, Halloween, etc.).
  • After an event ends, items will move to their respective chests, keeping them organized.
  • These chests will be decorated to match their season and will be easy to find.
  • This will reduce lag by preventing excessive items from cluttering the main map.
  • Only seasonal items from 2025 onwards will be stored this way—older items will remain on the map.

Although this system is planned for the future, it won't be ready for the Valentine’s update. The update is already packed with content, so it's likely that the devs are saving this for another day.

Dress to Impress Valentine’s Quest Areas

Two areas were revealed for the Valentine’s event quest in Dress to Impress prior to the start of the event. DTI shared that the two areas—which are different realms—are "unlocked through trials and tribulations." Both maps are credited to @harht, while the quest is written by Umoyae. The most interesting items in both images are the glowing crystal ball in the pink room, which appears to be showing some kind of doorway with a plant next to it (which we now know to be Cupid's crystal ball), and the Agamemnon place card in the red and black image (which is an area you'll see near the end of Chapter 2). If you're unfamiliar with Agamemnon, he's the cult leader of the group "Plague," and the main antagonist of Dress to Impress.

Dress to Impress Valentine's Event Quest Guide - Chapter 1

Head through the golden portal in the Dress to Impress lobby to find the quest area for the Valentine's event. You do not need to complete a round of the game to do the quests; something that was a prerequisite for the Halloween event. Once you load in, you'll be in a dark, pink room with swan boats on either side—it looks similar to a Tunnel of Love ride. There are two chapters for the Valentine's event, and you can play alone, as a duo, in a quad, or with up to six people.

Enter one of the glowing hearts next to a swan boat and wait for the timer to finish counting down to start the chapter. The first thing you have to do in Chapter 1 is go to the white gate, and then you'll meet Cupid, who needs your help. From the light pink room, walk down the corridor, into the library (first left), and then into the potion room (turn right).

How to Make Potions

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

In the potion room, you'll meet Leah Ashe, who will explain what's happening and why you're training to be like Cupid. Your first step is to make some potions. Follow these steps to complete the task:

  1. Go to one of the six potion stations.
  2. Memorize the liquid base and solid base.
  3. Shake the liquid base up and down three times.
  4. But the liquid base in the cauldron.
  5. Shake the solid base from left to right three times.
  6. Stir the cauldron three times.
  7. Pick a potion bottle (any, it doesn't matter).
  8. Take the potion to the big cauldron by Leah Ashe at the front of the room.

You have three minutes to complete this task, and you need to complete three potions per group member; solo players do three, duos do six, etc. When you're done, go into the golden portal to the right of Leah.

How to Hit the Hearts in the Archery Game

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

This is definitely the annoying part of the event. As shown in the screenshot above, you need to aim so that the bottom of the curve is just under the heart, and then time it so that the arrow would meet the heart as it moves. This means waiting for the heart to come back towards where you're aiming and then firing the arrow before the heart and your shot line up. It takes a bit of trial and error to get right.

You need a total of 250 points to pass this part of the Chapter. If you're struggling, I'd recommend joining a group in the Tunnel of Love lobby.

How to Open the Portal

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

To open the portal to the dark realm where someone's soul is being held prisoner, you'll need to hit a floating, golden heart. I'd advise going to the far left or right of the path and hitting the heart from there because you'll be the closest to it when it's circling around.

Like the archery mini-game, don't try to hit the heart dead-on because you'll miss it.

Dress to Impress Valentine's Event Quest Guide - Chapter 2

Welcome to Agamemnon's realm. You need to find four chests, each with their own mini-game attached that you need to complete to unlock them.

Chest One

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

The first chest can be found underwater in a pond on the left island. From the center of the area where the locked door is, go left, and then take the left path. There's a pond in the middle of the island that you can swim in, and the chest is at the end.

The first game is a "find the match" game. Take a quick screenshot to reference and you can't lose. You only have five lives, so doing this organically is difficult if you don't have a great memory.

Chest Two

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

Go back the way you came and take the right-hand path rather than the left one you took for Chest One. You'll enter a house with different pieces of furniture that you'll recognize from the Halloween Chapters. From the entrance, follow these directions:

  1. Right, jump over the bed
  2. Left into the corner with multiple bookcases (ignore the open archway with the cobwebs, you don't need to go that way)
  3. Right
  4. Left
  5. Left
  6. Turn right into the part of the corridor with two couches
  7. Left
  8. Right
  9. Left at the plants
  10. Straight
  11. Right
  12. Right
  13. Chest at the end behind two sets of stacks crates (one on each side of the corridor).

This time, you have a game of "Find the Butterfly," which is the same as any game where you have one target and two fakes that you move around. Usually, it's a specific card or a ball in a cup.

Chest Three

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

Back to the main area, go over the opposite bridge, and head towards the left. The area will immediately darken when you walk in, but the chest glows with a red outline. It's by the huge, twisted tree on the right side of the gazebo, close to the entrance. You can make out a small triangle of it in the screenshot above.

The mini-game here is another "Find the Match" one, so take another screenshot to help you complete the game.

Enjoy your third jumpscare.

Chest Four

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

Last one, head back where you came from and take the final path on the right. The chest is behind the giant tree opposite the entrance, you really can't miss it.

The final game is a second "Find the Butterfly."

How to Unlock the Door in Chapter 2

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

To unlock the door in Chapter 2 of the DTI Valentine's event quest, you need to watch the screen that appears by the door in the main area for a sequence of four colors. The colors are red, blue, yellow, and green, and they correspond to the colors on the base of the statues near the door. Once you've seen the sequence, you'll have about 30 seconds to interact with the statues in order and unlock one of the three locks on the door.

Do this three times, and the door will unlock with a nice, ominous message from Agamemnon.

Completing the Obby in Chapter 2

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

Through the door, you'll enter an obstacle course that can be a bit tricky in places but isn't as bad as say... The candy forest obby from the Winter update. Start the course by interacting with the orb to your left, and then walk across the bridge and turn left to the platforms.

There's a series of platforms, strange paths, and a bit of jumping you'll need to do to complete the course, but the game leads you through each section. Some tips:

  • If the square platforms are thin, they disappear a few seconds after being jumped on. The large blocks move, but don't disappear.
  • Be sure to turn on every orb you come across (the next one is always outlined in white).
  • There isn't a boss battle, so you can push that anxiety out of your mind.
  • If you fall, you'll end up back at the start of that section of the obby, rather than right at the beginning.
Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

After you finish the obstacle course, you'll get a cutscene that shows you released the imprisoned soul and a hint about the next lore update.
