The Archaeological Hunt event is a limited-time event in Fisch. It starts by finding and talking to Dr. Finneus, who sets you out on a quest to find ten prehistoric fish bones so that you can open a mysterious island. Enjoy this guide to the Fisch event!
Dr. Finneus Location in Fisch
Dr. Finneus can be found between Snowcap Island and Terrapin Island. From Moosewood, if you sail south/southeast, you'll eventually see an orange and grey boat with the title "Dr. Finneus" above it and a countdown for the event. This is a seven-day event, lasting from November 23 to November 30, 2024.
If you're struggling to find him, Dr. Finneus is at the coordinates (1170, 132, 2456).
Jump onto his boat and talk to him to start the event, which will require that you catch ten prehistoric fish bones from a limited-time bestiary. The bestiary does not appear with the others you have, you have to talk to Dr. Finneus to see it.

Mysterious Island Location in Fisch (How to get to the Archaeological Site Island)
After completing the Archaeologist Bestiary, you'll unlock access to a mysterious island, a location mentioned by Dr. Finneus when you first speak to him. To find the island, you’ll need to collect a Handwritten Note from Dr. Finneus after catching all ten fish bones. The note is a map that contains the coordinates of the island and nine strange glyphs that you'll soon need.
The coordinates, (4043.7, 131.9, 74.3), will lead you to the Archaeological Site Island, which can be visited at any point, but completing the event is necessary to claim the ultimate prize: the Relic Rod.
Upon reaching the island, you'll face a huge series of platforms and rocks that are weirdly difficult to navigate. You need to get to the center of the island (4039.6, 131.5, 73.4), where you'll find a cave door with a stone panel in front of it.
Press the buttons on the panel in the order of the nine glyphs from Dr. Finneus’s note. The door will open and remain permanently unlocked for your character, similar to the gate leading to The Depths. At least, it will be unlocked for the duration of the event.
Inside the cave, you’ll descend through a series of platforms to the bottom, where the Relic Rod awaits. However, it’s important to note that the rod can only be purchased for 8,000C$ after you’ve fully completed the event by finishing the bestiary, getting the note from Dr. Finneus, and completing the puzzle. If the event remains unfinished, the rod won’t be available for purchase, even if the cave door is open.
