Who needs a map when you have PGG?

If you’ve been diligently working through the Archaeologist Bestiary, your hard work is about to pay off. Completing this task unlocks access to the mysterious island mentioned by Dr. Finneus during your initial conversation with him. Officially called the Archaeological Site Island, you can use this guide to locate it in the world of Fisch.

How to Find the Mysterious Island (Archaeological Site Island) in Fisch

Once you’ve caught all ten fish bones needed to complete the Archaeologist Bestiary, Dr. Finneus will reward you with a Handwritten Note. This note not only includes a map with the island's exact coordinates (4043.7, 131.9, 74.3) but also features a series of nine mysterious glyphs. These glyphs are vital to solving the puzzle that guards the treasure hidden within the island’s cave (the Relic Rod!).

You won’t be able to solve the puzzle or claim the Relic Rod from the Archaeological Site Island until you’ve completed the Archaeologist Bestiary and received the Handwritten Note from Dr. Finneus.

Getting to the Archaeological Site Island can be tricky, especially if you’re not used to using Fisch’s GPS system. The easiest route is to start at Mushgrove Swamp, one of Fisch's more recognizable islands. Sail around to the back of the swamp, then chart a course heading southeast. Keep an eye out for an island slightly to your right as you travel - it will gradually come into view as it loads. This is the "mysterious island" referenced by Dr. Finneus.

Upon reaching the island, you’ll notice that its terrain is a maze of platforms, rocks, and uneven pathways. While the area is visually interesting, it’s also tricky to navigate. Your goal is to reach the center of the island, which is located at 4039.6, 131.5, 73.4. This spot is home to a cave door guarded by a stone panel with a puzzle interface.

Once you’ve made it to the cave door, it’s time to put Dr. Finneus’s Handwritten Note to use. The nine glyphs depicted on the note represent the order in which you need to press the buttons on the stone panel. Carefully examine the note and match the glyphs to the buttons on the panel.

Press the buttons in the correct sequence, and the cave door will unlock. Inside the cave, you’ll find a series of descending platforms that lead to the bottom. At the lowest point, you'll find the Relic Rod on sale for 8,000C$.
