What Are All the Weather Events in Grow a Garden 2?
There are currently 10+ Weather Events in Grow a Garden 2, split between daytime weathers (Rain, Lightning, Snowfall, Starfall, Rainbow, and the new Sunburst) and night-only moon events (Blood Moon, Gold Moon, Rainbow Moon, Mega Moon, and Aurora Borealis). Most events last two to five minutes, and each one either speeds up growth, applies a value-boosting mutation, or drops special seeds.
Daytime Weather Events
These weathers can spawn during the day (or, for some, at any time). The table below lists all the daytime Weather Events, their durations, and their effects:

Night Moon Events
These events can only appear during the Night phase, while PvP is active, so guard your garden while farming them. Their approximate spawn chances per night come from community tracking:

On top of these, a few limited weathers, such as the Chained Moon, Pizza Moon, and Solar Flare, have appeared during special events like Admin Abuse. These apply their own low-multiplier mutations (roughly 4x to 8x) and aren't part of the regular rotation, so don't build your farming plans around them.
What Does the New Sunburst Weather Do in Grow a Garden 2?
Sunburst is a daytime-only Weather Event added on July 3, 2026 (v1.10.0). The sky fills with bright orange light, a giant sun appears over the center of the map, and random crops in the ground receive the Ignited mutation, which multiplies their value by around 60x. Sunburst is currently the only way to get the Ignited mutation.
Since Sunburst fires during the day, PvP is off, making it the safest high-value event to farm — nobody can steal your Ignited crops during the event window. Leave your crops in the ground while it's active (harvested crops in your inventory can't be Ignited) and run sprinklers to give the event more targets. One caveat from our testing: the full multiplier applies to multi-harvest crops, while single-harvest crops like Carrots get a heavily reduced payout, so prioritize ripe multi-harvest plants.
What Is the Mega Moon Event in Grow a Garden 2?
Mega Moon is a night-only Weather Event added on June 27, 2026. When it fires, the sky turns dark blue-purple, the moon visibly grows, and the ground starts shaking. For about two minutes, Mega Seeds spawn all over the map — stand near one and hold E to collect it.
Mega Seeds grow into guaranteed Huge variants of regular Seed Shop plants, which sell for far more than their normal versions. With only around a 2% chance per Night phase, Mega Moon is as rare as Bloodmoon, so grab as many seeds as you can whenever it appears. Just remember that PvP is active at night — don't wander too far from your garden with valuable crops sitting unharvested.
Do Mutations Stack in Grow a Garden 2?
No, mutations do not stack in Grow a Garden 2. Each crop can only hold one mutation at a time — when a new Weather Event fires, the incoming mutation either replaces the existing one or fails to apply. This is a major change from the first Grow a Garden, where mutations could combine into massive multipliers.
This one rule should shape your whole strategy. Before a high-value event, harvest crops carrying cheap mutations so your plots are free to catch the better one. For example, selling your 40x Frozen crops right before a Bloodmoon means more of your garden is available for the 80x Bloodlit mutation to land on.
How Does the Day and Night Cycle Work in Grow a Garden 2?
The day and night cycle runs in a constant loop of three phases. Morning lasts 7 minutes and 30 seconds and is your main farming window — the default Sunny weather has no special effects or mutations. A 30-second Sunset then warns you that night is coming, so use it to harvest anything valuable.

- Aurora Borealis — The 90x Aurora mutation plus 50% faster growth is a huge payday, but it's a night event, so defend your crops.
- Sunburst — Around 60x from Ignited with zero steal risk, since it only fires during the day. The safest big multiplier in the game.
- Lightning — The 70x Shocked mutation appears often enough that keeping your plots full during storms pays off over time.
- Mega Moon — No mutation, but guaranteed Huge variants from Mega Seeds are a massive value boost, and the event is as rare as Bloodmoon.
Rain deserves an honorable mention — no multiplier, but the free 2x growth speed and crop revival make it the best time to replant your entire garden.
