Heian is one of the most hardcore JJK-inspired experiences on Roblox, and starting out without any help can make progression very slow. To help you out, we compiled a list of tips and tricks that will help you with leveling, map exploration, combat, and other in-game mechanics. Here is our ultimate Heian beginner's guide!
Heian Basics - How to Get the Journal and Find Info

The most important beginner tool in Heian is the Journal. You can get the Journal by talking to Anri right next to the bed where you spawn by default. Just exhaust the dialogue, and you'll get it. Then, equip it in your inventory and use LMB to open it. In the Journal, you'll find all the controls, beginner tips, and a lot of other useful info. To scroll the Journal, click on the left/right edge of the menu.
Heian Basics - How to Get The Research of Sorcery

The Research of Sorcery is a book similar to the Journal that you can also get in the starter village. The NPC that gives it is called Ryozhi and is located on a platform towards the village exit. The Research of Sorcery contains more helpful info about the game, including where to farm each crafting resource.
How Stats Work in Heian and Best Stats to Upgrade

In Heian, your stats determine your damage, survivability, weapons you can equip, and a bunch of other things. With each level up, you'll get 15 Skill Points to spend. You can allocate skill points in the stats menu, which is on the right when you click Tab. Here is what each stat does and what it's required for:
- Agility: Agility increases your climbing height.
- Vitality: Vitality increases your maximum HP. You get ~15% more HP with 80 Vitality.
- Strength: Strength increases your fist damage. You'll have ~3x fist damage with 80 Strength.
- Curse Energy: Curse Energy increases your max CE by 1.2 per point.
- Curse Output: Curse Output increases your Cursed Technique damage and Cursed Energy consumption. You'll have ~3x CT damage with 80 Curse Output.
- Heavy Mastery: Heavy Mastery increases your Heavy weapon damage. You'll have ~x3 Heavy weapon damage with 80 Heavy Mastery.
- Medium Mastery: Medium Mastery increases your Medium weapon damage. You'll have ~x3 Medium weapon damage with 80 Medium Mastery.
- Light Mastery: Light Mastery increases your Light weapon damage. You'll have ~x3 Light weapon damage with 80 Light Mastery.
How Skill Trees Work in Heian

Skill Trees work as extensions of the stats system. By investing a certain number of points into specific stats, you'll unlock new stats-specific skills to use. Click M on your keyboard to open the Skill Tree menu. If you have enough stats for a certain skill (30 AGI, for example), just double-click the skill on the tree, and it will be unlocked and available in your inventory.
How to Get/Craft Weapons and Outfits

There are two main ways to get weapons, outfits, gear, and other resources in Heian: loot and crafting. Loot will spawn in chests around the world whenever you kill a boss, solve a quest, etc. You'll find loot chests wherever you go, really.
Crafting requires resources and blueprints. Resources can usually be obtained by gathering/mining items around the world, killing enemies, looting chests, and buying them from merchants. Blueprints are most often found in loot chests. You can use the Blacksmith in the starting village to learn the blueprints you collect and craft items.
How to Buy and Sell Items in Heian

There are merchants in almost every major location in Heian. They will buy trinkets from you and sell you common weapons, tools (mining pick, axe, etc.), crafting resources, and other useful items. Use their services whenever you can.
How to Use Rune Stones in Heian

Rune Stones allow you to fast travel around the massive Heian world. Each time you discover a new Rune Stone, interact with it to permanently unlock it as a fast travel location. Then, interact with the stone again and choose which other stone to teleport to.
How to Get Side Quests and Earn EXP

Side quests are an extremely easy way to get EXP, Reputation, and a bunch of cool items. You can find side quest NPCs all around the map, and by talking to them, you can learn what they require. Once you've done what they asked of you, talk with them again to get the rewards.
How to Do Bounties and Related NPCs

Bounty Boards located in each major village allow you to get rewards for killing other players. Just find a board and click on one of the contracts to start the bounty quest. You can then talk to the NPC next to the board to get teleported to your target.
How to Get Missions and Earn EXP in Heian

The missions menu will be visible on the left when you click Tab. It will allow you to take quests in your current area, which reward EXP, money, and Reputation when solved. You'll want to do a lot of these early on to progress quickly. New missions will appear in the menu depending on which area you're currently in.
How to Get Cursed Techniques in Heian

Obtaining a CT (Cursed Technique) in Heian will first require you to be Grade 2. Then, you'll need to locate the CT NPC, do quests, meet stat requirements, etc. You'll learn all the requirements when talking to the CT trainer. You can find more info about the trainer locations on the Heian Trello board.
How to Increase Your Grade in Heian
Any time you earn Reputation, your Grade progress will increase. To get Reputation, you can do quests, kill players and enemies, participate in events, etc. Literally, anything and everything you do in Heian will reward some Reputation, and the more you gain, the higher your Grade will be.
