How to Defeat All Monsters in Grace
Most of the monsters in Grace won't kill your character right away but will give a short time to hide or run away. Usually, it takes a few seconds to look around and find the right place to hide. Most monsters will simply vanish once you do so.
Monster | Indicator | How to beat |
---|---|---|
Carnation | Pink light | You must keep moving through the doors until you reach a small opening in the wall or the floor that is lit by a source of light. Sit and wait there until Carnation passes by. If you come into contact with Carnation, your character will be immediately killed. |
Dozer | Pale yellow light | When Carnation is attacking you, Dozer spawns automatically. So crouch down, stop moving, and wait for it to disappear. It's crucial to avoid sliding in this position, or Dozer will instantly kill your character. If your timing's right, you can still find a hiding place. As soon as Carnation disappears, Dozer will also vanish. |
Slight | Bright blue light | Since Slight can't spawn in front of any doors, you should look down or in the direction of the nearest door as quickly as possible. You have only one second to look at Slight or turn away from its general direction. When the next door is opened, the Slight will vanish. |
Slugfish | White flames | Slugfish can be shocking to beginner players since it moves so quickly and unexpectedly. Your cue to hide is when you see the white tentacles or flames bouncing around off the edges of your screen. As soon as you see this, quickly stand against one of the walls to let it pass. |
Elkman | Screen static | Elkman can be identified by the creepy music playing and the static that gradually forms on your screen. You have to turn around and hide behind any object large enough to cover you. Then, return to the previous room, and Elkman will vanish as soon as you're out of sight. |
Heed | Bright red light | You should be facing Heed as soon as it appears. Heed won't attack you the moment you turn your head away to open the door; rather, it moves quickly toward you, giving you a brief window to quickly turn back. When the next door is opened, Heed will vanish. |
Sorrow | Red fog and rain | Sorrow attacks by splattering blood droplets on the ground. You must quickly find any kind of cover, hiding place, or door frame to escape the attack. There's really no other way to beat Sorrow, only by hiding away from its menace. |
Goatman | Screen saturation | When the timer expires or the hatch to a saferoom is open, the Goatman will appear. You can push it back using your flashlight. The Goatman will continue to exist in spite of this until you enter the safe room. Otherwise, your character will die. |
Genesis | Darkness | This monster isn't really an enemy but more of a messenger who tells players that they're at the end of the game, regardless of whether they stayed alive or died. After encountering Genesis, you typically return to the lobby or the spectator's menu. |
