The wait is finally over, and you can dive into a brand new adventure in The Forge by exploring Island 4, the Crimson Sakura Island, and completing all the quests given by the Shogun so that you can face off against the Asura Incarnate Boss. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the new location while you can, cause once you start completing this questline, your skills will be put to the test for sure.
How to Find the Shogun in The Forge Crimson Sakura Island
If you're stuck wondering how to get/start the Shogun quests in The Forge, you've come to the right place. This title belonged to military commanders appointed by the emperor, so rest assured that this NPC will be sitting on some throne in a temple. You can see it in the distance as you explore the Crimson Sakura Island, so let its roof guide you closer.
Once you cross a small river bridge, the scenery will change from red to green, which will be your indicator that you're going the right way. Once you cross it, the area you find yourself in is called Shogun's Island. From there, it's full sail ahead to the temple entrance guarded by lion statues. Beyond the gate, you finally reach the Hall of the Shogun, where you will be given multiple quests to complete before you can fight the Asura Incarnate Boss.
Shogun Quests in The Forge Crimson Sakura Island
The Shogun will not make it easy for you, so get ready to work for it! You are given 5 quests to complete; however, if you're eager to face off the Boss as soon as possible, you can do that after you complete 4 of them.
Quest 1 - Ape Menace
To complete this quest, you must kill 5 Mountain Apes. They are roaming the rocky peaks of Bamboo Cave, up and to the left of Maria's shop, crushing intruders with their massive fists. So don't be fooled by the fact that this is the first challenge. It still takes a few solid hits to defeat them, especially if you haven't upgraded your weapons in a while.
Quest 2 - Savage Lands
This quest requires you kill 15 Mountain Apes and 5 Savage Apes. I will warn you right now that the Savage Apes are much more feral than their Mountain cousin, and far stronger too. You can find them at the same location as the previous quest, the Bamboo Cave. They do spawn less that the Mountain version, so if you're struggling to find them, I suggest hopping on a private server.
Quest 3 - Warrior Beasts
You must kill 30 Samurai Apes and 15 Monk Pandas to check this one off your list. If you found yourself struggling with the first 2, then quest number 3 will be nearly impossible to complete without good preparation. My suggestion is that you arm yourself with the best weapons or get health and damage potions at Maria's Shop.
Additionally, you can always team up with a friend to complete it. And don't worry, as long as you both hit, the quest completion will count for everyone. Private Servers are usually the best option especially when you want to mine solo, but in the case of these NPC fighting quests, my suggestion is that you always go the public route. You'll find at least someone that can help you out, or who is already completing the quest.
Quest 4 - Securing the Surface
Quest number 4 has you kill 35 Samurai Apes and 20 Monk Pandas. To make your life easier, you should play the more difficult quests on a public server because you can run into multiple people facing the same challenge, as I mentioned above. And if you combine all your strengths, this will be a piece of cake!
After completing this quest, you are now able to fight in the boss section. However, I do suggest continuing the Shogun questline, as you can earn a lot of money and EXP by completing all quests.
Quest 5 - The Cave's Maw
Now, as previously mentioned, you don't have to complete this quest to face off against the Asura Incarnate Boss. However, if you don't like to leave things half finished, you must go to the Holy Tree location, enter the Holy Cave, and kill 15 Brute Onis.
How to Get to The Asura Incarnate Boss in The Forge Crimson Sakura
You cannot challenge the Asura Incarnate Boss to an epic battle until you complete at least 4 of the 5 Shogun's quests. However, if you've passed the challenges and come out victorious, you have to find a place called Shrine of Rootwarden, where a golden light will be an indicator that you're in the right place.
On your journey to this location, you'll pass Aurelia Hall and go through Bamboo Grove, and once you exit it, take the first right turn, and you'll reach your destination. When you come close to the light, you will have the option to enter a queue for the Boss battle. You'd best be ready cause when the timer is up, you're teleported to Asura Incarnate's Temple, where an epic battle awaits!
Just like with the Yeti, if you die, then you will have to wait until you can go back in. This area does allow for Totem usage, so try to place some as you pop in, Doing this with friends, or very helpful strangers, is also very much the best idea. The more of you there are to hit it, the less hits it will take.
