How to Get All Escape the Zoo Endings

Escape through the sewers or go out with a bang!

In Escape the Zoo, you’re trapped in a monkey’s cage, and there are two different ways to escape and end the game. The first one is called the Sewer Ending, and the second one is called the C4 Ending. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to get both of these Escape the Zoo endings and complete the escape easily.

How to Get the Sewer Ending in Escape the Zoo

The normal/main ending in Escape the Zoo is the Sewer Ending. To get this ending, you have to dig a tunnel inside your cage that connects you to the sewers underground.

As you dig, you’ll find different items. Sell those items to earn Bananas (the main currency of the Zoo). Use Bananas to buy digging tool upgrades and increase item storage so you can dig faster, farther, and bring back more items to sell. Depending on the items you find while digging and the items offered by the gorilla, this ending can take between 15 and 20 minutes.

Here are a few tips that you can follow to achieve the sewer ending in Escape the Zoo:

  • Use the Digger or Endurance class. The Digger class can increase your digging speed by up to 15%. This will help you dig faster without requiring any extra energy. If you can’t get Digger, use Endurance to get an energy boost for longer digging sessions. I prefer Endurance because it also helps you save Bananas that will otherwise be spent on food.
  • As you level up, you’ll unlock better digging tools automatically. So, focus on digging, collecting, and selling items early and level up as quickly as possible. Also, purchase instant tool upgrades whenever you can. This will really speed up your digging and help you get to the end quicker. The instant tool upgrades can be bought from the Gorilla and cost 80 Bananas.
  • Be careful at night. That’s when the guards start patrolling the Zoo and, if you get caught out of your cage, your escape fails. You can dig while the guards are roaming outside. Even if you don’t cover the hole, you’ll be safe.
  • Explosives can also speed up your digging process, especially later on when you have to dig through tougher surfaces. Make sure you start piling them up from the start. Trading with the monkey inside the Warden’s office is also a great way to get some explosives easily.
  • Buy Sack Upgrades whenever possible so you can bring back and sell more items per run.
  • Once you’ve cleared the first two to three surfaces, start digging a straight and narrow tunnel. This will help save you time and energy and help you reach the end faster.

After digging through the final layer, you’ll drop into the sewers. Simply walk towards the steel gate, and a cut scene will start showing your character climbing out of the sewers.

How to Get the C4 Ending in Escape the Zoo

If you don’t want to dig a tunnel and escape through the sewers, you can try to escape by laying waste to the entire zoo. For that, you’ll need to save up 1,000 Bananas, buy C4s from the Gorilla, and plant them in four different locations across the zoo.

Here are a few things to keep in mind if you want to try and get this Escape the Zoo ending:

  • Start with the Hoarder class. This will give you more sack slots from the beginning, allowing you to bring back and sell more items per run and start earning Bananas quickly.
  • Don’t waste Bananas on food or explosives. Rely on the free food from the guards or the food you find while digging. This will help you save up 1,000 Bananas far more quickly.
  • Once you have the C4s, wait for day time. Don’t try to place the C4s during nighttime, or the guards will catch you and put an end to the escape.
  • During the day, when visitors come to the zoo, use the door in the right corner of the cage to simply walk out of the cage. Follow the markers on the screen and place all four C4 charges across the zoo.
  • As soon as you place the fourth C4 charge, all the charges will blow up the zoo, causing chaos and ending the game.

This ending is slightly easier and quicker to get than the Sewer Ending. You simply need to focus on earning 1,000 Bananas as quickly as possible and then wait for the Gorilla to offer C4 charges.

If you’re looking to make things a bit more challenging, try to place the C4 charges at night while the guards are patrolling.
