Shanks has one of the more popular weapons in One Piece, so why wouldn't you also wield Gryphon? By using this blade, you'll get powerful abilities from the Captain of the Red Hair Pirates. But first, you must find out how to get Gryphon in A Universal Time.
How to acquire Gryphon in A Universal Time (AUT)
To obtain Gryphon you must complete Shanks' quest in AUT. Follow the instructions in this Gryphon guide to complete the quest successfully. Remember that there are two Shanks in Orange Town, with each giving different quests. If you're not strong enough to complete the Gryphon quest, you can make your character stronger by redeeming A Universal Time codes.
- Talk to Kuma and travel to Orange Town on the AUT map.
- From the starting spot, head straight along the edge until you see the Conq Shanks NPC around the corner (see image above).
- Speak to Shanks to get a quest to defeat 20 Pirates that spawn around Orange Town.
- Defeat Pirates and talk to Shanks again to receive the next assignment.
- You must find the West Blue Juice item that can be found in chests. If you already have one, place it in your inventory and talk to Shanks.
- Like the Gomu Devil Fruit quest, you must defeat Buggy. You'll find him near the other Shanks NPC in the center of the town, where he spawns every 15 minutes.
- Talk to Shanks again for the final task of defeating the Shanks boss. He spawns every 30 minutes. Make sure to have help, as he's hard to kill.
- Return to Conq Shanks location to complete the quest and receive the Manual of Gryphon’s Techniques.
- Use the Manual while standless to learn the Gryphon ability.
