How to get the Igneous Rupturer Rod in Fisch

A new grindy rod has arrived in Fisch!

The Igneous Rupturer is a secret, quest-driven rod found at the Scoria Reach. To get this, the players must finish several sets of tasks, ranging from obtaining the Daybreaker Rod to finishing the entire Scoria Reach Bestiary. If you are confused about the quest related to the rod or the means to complete it, here is a detailed guide.

Below, I have listed all the steps you must complete to get the Igneous Rupturer Rod.

How to get the Daybreaker Rod and Scoria Reach Armour

The first step is to purchase both the Scoria Reach Armor and the Daybreaker Rod, available at the center of Ashbrook Town. The Armor costs 75,000 C$, while the Daybreaker Rod costs 750,000 C$. However, the Armor can only be purchased after completing 20% of the Scoria Reach Bestiary, and the Daybreaker Rod unlocks at 50% completion.

The next step is to finish the entire Scoria Reach Bestiary. Since you would have already completed 50% Bestiary for the Daybreaker Rod, you finish the rest using our dedicated Scoria Reach Bestiary guide that enlists all the 21 fishes along with the details like preferred Bait, Season, Weather & Timings. Just follow the instructions and go to the respective Sub-Locations to complete everything. This is a bit of a grind and would take at least 10 to 15 hours to catch all the items. I found it extremely challenging to obtain the Igneous Pearl and Infernal Fragment. If you are also having difficulty getting these items, be a little patient and try to fish during Aurora Borealis or High Luck Events.

Where is the Scoria Guard in Fisch?

Before going ahead, you must speak with the Scoria Guard NPC at the start of the Scoria Reach Island to start the quest related to activating the Igneous Altar.

How to activate the Igneous Altar in Fisch

The fourth step is to activate the Igneous Altar at the backside of the Scoria Reach (-5331, 138, -1271). To do this, you will require 10 different Pearls. Some of these are obtained from the default Clams available at Roslit Bay, while others are found on the Scoria Reach.

Clams & Pearl Drops

The Clam is a Common fish found in Roslit Bay, with a 47% chance each try. Since there is no preference, you can use something like the Scurvy or Low Luck rods and fish at the Clam Abundance area (Visible using Fish Radar) behind the Roslit Volcano. While Catching A Clam, you will also be rewarded with one of the seven Pearls.

Pearl NameChance
Pearl46.99%
Gilded Pearl19.58%
Rose Pearl19.58%
Mauve Pearl7.83%
Deep Pearl3.92%
Aurora Pearl1.96%
Golden Sea Pearl0.16%

You need to obtain all seven Pearls to place them at the Igneous Altar.

Lava Clams & Pearl Drops

The Lava Clam is a Rare fish found at Scoria Reach. There is an exclusive pool at GPS (-5102, 162, -1177) opposite Ashbrook Town. Similar to the default Clams, you can obtain one of the four Pearls while fishing for the Lava versions.

  • Ashy Pearl
  • Sulfur Pearl
  • Obsidian Pearl
  • Igneous Pearl

You need all four sets of Pearl and place them at the Igneous Altar to activate it.

How to use Sulfur, Obsidian, and Infernal Fragments

If you have finished the Scoria Reach Bestiary, you would have obtained the Sulfur, Obsidian, and the Infernal Fragment from the Crab Miners inside the Scoria Mines. To proceed further, you must place these Fragments in their respective pillars available on the same Scoria Reach Island. I have listed the exact locations below, along with GPS coordinates, to make your life easier.

  • Obsidian Pillar (-5643, 163, -1693)
  • Infernal Pillar (-5604, 262, -1736)

Once everything is in place, go inside the Scoria Volcano at GPS (-5493, 189, -1558) and start fishing over there. After catching your first fish at the location, the tide below you will vanish, and you can purchase the Igneous Rupturer Rod for 5,000,000C$.
