How to Get Scoria Armor in Fisch – Scoria Reach Heat Guide

Here's how to get the Scoria Armor in Fisch!

Fisch recently added the Scoria Reach update, adding a brand-new volcanic island packed with rare fish, lava pools, high-tier rods, and many more surprises. While reaching the island is simple, surviving there is the real challenge due to extreme environmental heat. Scoria Reach constantly raises your temperature bar and if it fills completely, your character dies. To safely explore and fish in this volcanic zone, you’ll need the Scoria Armor. So, to help you get that, here’s exactly how to unlock it and survive the heat.

Scoria Reach is located behind The Laboratory at coordinates -4806, 138, -1368. Using the in-game GPS makes navigation much easier. Once you arrive at the island, you will immediately notice a temperature bar appearing on your screen, starting at around 37 degrees. To obtain the Scoria Armor, follow these steps:

  1. First, walk past the Scoria Guard NPC near the entrance. Continue forward and turn right toward Ashbrook Town.
  2. Inside Ashbrook Town, locate the building with red crystal pillars. The Scoria Armor is displayed inside that building along with the Merchant.
  3. The armor costs 75,000 C$, but you cannot purchase it immediately. You must first complete at least 20% of the Scoria Reach bestiary.

This means catching a portion of the island’s unique fish before the merchant allows you to buy it. Once purchased and equipped, the Scoria Armor prevents your temperature from rising rapidly, allowing you to fish in lava pools and explore the island safely.

The temperature system is the main survival mechanic on Scoria Reach. Without protection, the heat bar fills quickly, and once it reaches the maximum level, your character dies almost instantly. Here are the key ways to manage the heat:

Before unlocking the armor, minimize time spent near lava pools. Try to move efficiently between fishing attempts and avoid standing idle in high-heat zones. Completing bestiary progress quickly is your priority.

After equipping Scoria Armor, heat buildup becomes manageable. You can safely fish in lava pools located near Ashbrook Town. Using rods like the Magma Rod, Volcanic Rod, or rods enchanted with Invincible lets you farm in Lava Pools/
