How to get the Everfrost Key in Fisch

The first step to getting the Maelstrom Rod is obtaining the Everfrost Key. This is a lengthy quest that requires you to finish six sets of quests before receiving it. You can start this series of quests after bringing Santa back from the North Expedition to the Toy Factory.

Quest 1: Snack Break

For this one, you must fish x5 Gingerbread Man and x2 Glass of Eggnog. Just activate your Fish Radar to find the best place to catch both items at the Northstar Village. Equip your best rod and start fishing for these things during the Winter Season, when the weather is clear.

Quest 2: Missing Present

This one requires you to catch x3 Santa's Presents. Since this is a Trash Tier item, switch to something like a Magnet Rod and equip the Magnet Bait. That's it! Continue fishing until you secure Santa's Present. Remember, these are red and different from the standard Presents + Snowy Presents.

Quest 3: Warming Up

The third quest is similar to the first; just equip your best rod and start fishing for x6 Hot Cocoa in Northstar Village. Remember, there is no specific pool for Hot Cocoa, and instead, you can fish in the Carol Carp pool for a much higher chance.

Quest 4: Present Delivery

This is a tricky one: after finishing the previous quest, you will receive x20 Presents Called Someone's Present from Santa. The objective is to deliver these presents to the 10 Snowmen across the Glacial Ridge + Freezing Water, and the remaining 10 to other players on the server. Start by giving it to the Snowmen at the GPS coordinates below, then to other players.

Snowman 9-7123, 160, -17920
Snowman 10-7193, 164, -17958

Quest 5: Strange Whale

The final quest is to get the Northstar Whale. This is a very hard-to-get fish from the Fischmas 2 Bestiary, as it spawns very rarely and is a Limited Time Fish. Just try to fish for the Fish using a very high Luck rod during a Winter Season under Clear weather conditions. If you cannot get one, you can trade for one from the Fisch Discord server. Once you get the Northstar Whale, return to Santa to get the Everfrost Key.

  • Essence of Winter: 1 in 1000 Chance
  • Essence of Starfrost: 1 in 150 Chance (Only available after activating the Frost Moon Totem)

The final step of the process is to pull down the three Levers around the Northstar Village. This can be done only during the Frost Moon Event. So, use a Frost Moon Totem, then pull the Lever; otherwise, you will receive a message saying the "Lever is Frozen." If you are not aware of the Lever location, refer to the list below.

Finally, use the Everfrost Key to enter the Cryoshock Cellar, then use the Maelstrom Rod at the end of the room, which you can purchase for 3,250,000C$.

  • Lure Speed: 80%
  • Luck: 85%
  • Control: 0.15
  • Resilience: 35%

Along with that, Luck and Resilience are excellent as well, making it a must-have addition to the inventory. The only thing I didn't like was the -10% Progress Speed, but the mini-game charge mechanism makes up for it.
