How to get the Merchant Rod in Fisch
The Merchant Rod is sold by the Whale Merchant inside the belly of the Golden Whale. You can find the Golden Whale near the coast of the Isle of New Beginnings in the Second Sea during Tornado weather. Speak with the Crazy Man NPC, wait for a Tornado, and then board the Whale.
Once you are inside the Whale Interior, you can find a Whale Merchant on the right side of the area. Go near him and you can see the Merchant Rod in his store. Pay E$ 20,000 to get the Rod. Sometimes, the Whale Merchant may be sleeping, and in such instances, you cannot purchase anything from them, and you have to revisit when he is awake while traveling between the Isle of New Beginnings and Treasure Island.

The Merchant Rod is pretty bad in Fisch and should only be purchased if you are a beginner or a perfectionist collecting all the rods in the game. There are much better rods you can go for instead.
How to get the Treasure Rod in Fisch
Indicative of its name, the Treasure Rod is available on the Treasure Island. Right after landing with the help of the Golden Whale, you can find the Treasure Rod leaning on a small wooden pole to the right. Pay E$ 30,000 and the Rod will be all yours. The Treasure Rod is an average rod that has decent luck and lure speed. While the stats for fishing are okayish, the main thing that attracts me the most to the Rod is that it provides an 8% Chance for a Coinfall Event, during which you can amass a lot of coins pretty quickly.
