New Roblox Islands update brings Signs & Obby Kit to the game!

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Island has gotten a small update on August 16th, 2020. There's not a ton available in the patch, but you can now create Sign and purchase an Obby Kit with Robux. Some Islands creators have been making areas of their maps into obstacle courses, which are known as Obby in the Roblox world, so this new kit will enable them to take them a step further!

The Obby Kit can only be purchased officially in the game with Robux. However, you can purchase this kit from other players with coins. It will be going for quite a bit of money early on, but the price on it will drop very quickly once more people get the recipe. This kit comes with an Obby Leaderboard which can be made out of 40 Maple Wood and 5 Gold, and will show off the players who have completed your Obby the fastest. You can also create an Obby Start, Obby Checkpoint, and Obby Finish Flag that require wood and a different kind of flower for each! These are how you set the starting marker, checkpoint, and finish to your Obby!

Signs can be created with a variety of different wood options. You can type words onto them to describe certain areas of the map or direct people to different locations. You can make Maple, Oak, Hickory, Pine, and Birch signs depending on the wood you want to use. These can be put into the ground or placed on the wall.

There's also three new music disks you can find, which are Orange, Green, and Purple. These should drop off Slimes like the other disks. A new fix has been implemented to Buffalkors, which should hopefully cure their tendency to fall through the map!

While this was a small update, it sounds like they are working on something big for next week!
