Are There Secret Fish in Roblox Abyss?

The popular Roblox fishing experience boasts a variety of fish to catch - big and small, common and legendary, easy and hard. To keep things nicely ordered and easy to follow, there's the in-game Bestiary system, showcasing all the fish you've already caught. However, as of the Fish Pond update, a number of players have been confused about the seemingly missing secret fish in Abyss. What's going on here?

Players have noticed a 49th fish in The Bestiary, but no one has been able to catch it. Naturally, this has made the community excited for a potential hidden location or some special quest that will help them find the secret fish location in Abyss, with fans across Discord and Reddit speculating about the potential location.

If you were as excited as we were about the new fish, unfortunately, I have some bad news for you. As it turns out, there is no hidden fish in Abyss (at least not for now). Namely, the developers have explained that the 49th fish in the Bestiary was just a visual bug and that there wasn't actually a new fish added to the game at the time.

Will the Next Update Add a Secret Fish?

Currently, the next update is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18th. It will introduce a brand-new area called the Mushroom Biome. While the developers have confirmed that the update will include new guns, tubes, quests, NPCs, and fish, none of the fish will be "secret" in the sense that they require special steps to obtain. Instead, the biome will simply feature its own set of fish across different rarities that can be caught normally.

However, nothing is officially confirmed, so the devs might still have some new secrets planned, including a highly elusive and mysterious secret fish. Once the update goes live, we will, of course, play through it and update this article if it turns out that there is, in fact, a secret fish, or any other secret content, for that matter.
