Update 13 in Roblox Rivals brings exciting new game modes, maps, skins, and more which we will talk about here. Having more game modes allows players to engage in battles in more ways than before, which is always a good thing. You'll see a weekly rotation change, so we will do our best to help you figure them all out!
Rivals' main gameplay loop includes intense 1v1 to 5v5 matches where the players who reach 5 wins get the victory. The game's popularity comes from having a variety of weapons to accommodate all types of players. However, even that can become repetitive after a while, which is why this summer is the summer of game modes for Rivals.
Roblox Rivals Gamemodes Update 13 - Weakly Releases, Modes & More
As mentioned above, in Rivals update 13, the devs added a new separate game mode which you can access through the lobby. However, each one is limited and will change in a weakly rotation. This is a great feature since it enhances the game's longevity and invites new players to try out modes every week.
Juggernaut
Juggernaut is the first game mode in the rotation, and it's a 1vAll. One person will be chosen as the Juggernaut, which means their model will spawn in as bigger, but with more health as well (to compete with the many other players on the team). You'll learn how to stick together as a team, or how to take on an entire team solo, especially if they have rocket launchers.

In Swift Standoff, you have only one bullet in the chamber. It takes one hit to kill enemy players, so you'd better make your shot worth. There are different options like 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3. This is a real cowboy shootout, but with a twist. If you miss, try to immediately take out the enemy with a knife if you are close enough.
How to Unlock New Gear - Skins and Keys

Getting new skins in any game is a good way to show your progress or preference to other players. The same can be said about Rivals since update 13 added 11 new skins for you to try out:
- Legendary Spray Bottle
- Legendary Void Rifle
- Legendary Gunsaw
- Rare Cerulean Axe
- Rare Air Horn
- Rare Masterpiece
- Rare Hydro Pistols
- Rare Shady Chicken Sandwich
- Rare Violin Crossbow
- Common Bag o' Money
- Common Shurikens
These are part of the 'Skin Case 3' set. You can get them by going to the Hub area in Rivals and entering the Skins room. Here, you can purchase any skin you want. While you can get most skins using keys (which can be earned through missions or Robux), you have to buy the skin cases for 249 Robux each.
New Codes for Free Rewards

With update 13 comes new codes as well. You can use them to get free rewards that will help you in your journey, like FREE95 which gives you three free keys. To redeem this Rivals code and more, you must first follow the game developers (@Sensei_RBX and @NosniyRBLX) on X (Twitter).
Weapon Balances and Adjustments
After receiving feedback from the community, the developers made adjustments to various weapons. Some of the most notable ones are:
Weapons | Adjustments |
---|---|
Burst Rifle | - Cooldown increased - Max ammo decreased - Max ammo reserve decreased |
Energy Rifle | + Bounce redirection angle increased |
Grenade Launcher | + Projectile speed increased |
Slingshot | - Projectile hitbox size decreased + Critical hit mulitplier increased |
Spray | + Cooldown decreased - Damage decreased |
Jump Pad | + Max ammo increased + Launch velocity increased |
In the case of certain weapons like the Burst Rifle, players complained that it was too powerful for its intended purpose. So of course, the weapon saw some major nerfs so that the gameplay is more balanced.
How Update 13 Changes the Game

Update 13 is a huge step in the right direction as weekly game modes allow more players to enjoy a fresh game. It's especially great for veteran players as well as those who may have given up on the game. I haven't played it since the Mega Hunt, and I have to say I've enjoyed all of the available game modes so far.
Plus, the balance changes show that the devs listened to the community and wanted to keep the game healthy by making changes to various weapons like the energy rifle, grenade launcher, and slingshot, just to name a few.
Tips and Tricks for the New Update

Don't expect to be great once the game mode drops on Thursdays / Fridays. The game doesn't really give a description about what the mode is, just drops you head first into a match. If you learn best through trial by fire like I do, then you'll have lots of fun figuring it out. You can also jump into the shooting range where you can practice before you head into battle.
The more you play, the more you'll get used to the controls. Always keep moving by using the sliding technique. If you are a fan of Valorant or CS, you'll want to hold an angle, but Rivals is more like modern COD. You have to move around the map to take kills.
Smaller maps like the Arena are to me the best battlegrounds for these game modes, especially if you're playing a 1v1. You want to be as close to the action as possible, and you don't want your enemies to have a lot of space to hide and lie in wait.
Roblox Rivals vs. The Competition
First-person shooters aren't anything new in Roblox. However, Rivals is head and shoulders above some of its competitors like Arsenal, Phantom Forces, and Bad Business. This can mostly be attributed to Rivals' fast-paced gameplay.
Plus, the progression system is done nicely, which allows players to earn keys and unlock cosmetics of their choosing. However, one of the biggest reasons why Roblox Rivals is ranked so high is due to the ability to crossplay. This, combined with multiple rotating game modes thanks to update 13 makes Rivals is one of the most popular first-person shooters on Roblox.
