If you want to manipulate elements, nail down enemies with literal nails, or simply talk to them to deal damage, you’d want to get yourself an Innate Technique in Sorcerer Ascent. However, since these cost Soul Points to obtain and you can only have one at a time, we’ve put together this Sorcerer Ascent Innate Techniques tier list to help you choose the best.
Sorcerer Ascent Innate Techniques Tier List
| Tier | Innate Techniques |
|---|---|
| S | Disaster Plants, Cursed Speech |
| A | Blood Manipulation, Disaster Flame, Straw Doll, Ratio |
| B | Blazing Courage, Crystal formation |
| C | Earth Manipulation, Explosive Flesh |
The rarity ratings of the cursed techniques do not represent their effectiveness. That's why we've made this Sorcerer Ascent Innate Technique tier list that ranks and rates each technique on how well it performs in both PvP and PvE content.
If you're a complete beginner, Crystal Formation and Blazing Courage are good choices that you can use to clear early to mid-game content and set yourself up for a better late-game build. After that, try to reroll for any of the S-tier or A-tier techniques.

Note: More techniques will come to Sorcerer Ascent with future updates and this tier list will be updated accordingly.
S Tier - Best Innate Techniques in Sorcerer Ascent
| Technique | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
| Disaster Plants | + Extremely high combo potential because of stun and immobility moves, making up for the slightly low damage output. + AoE moves are excellent in PvE, while the stun moves will create plenty of attack/counter-attack opportunities in PvP. + One of the best and most effective Domain Expansions in the game. + Cursed Energy Regeneration is a huge advantage. |
| Cursed Speech | + Every move does high and consistent damage, making it equally effective in PvP and PvE. + Lower cooldowns than most Innate Techniques, allowing spammability and offering high combo potential. + Don’t Move paralyzes your enemies and can be a game-changer against bosses. + Easy to unlock moves because you’ll mostly invest stats in Cursed Energy Output. |
A Tier
| Technique | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
| Blood Manipulation | + Offers a mix of ranged, melee, and AoE attacks that provide consistent and high DPS. + High combo potential if you can land Piercing Blood and follow it up with Blood Spikes. + Ranged moves like the Bloody Disc are extremely helpful against melee bosses. - Leaves clear openings after almost every skill, which can be costly in PvP. - High and varied Stat Requirements. Can be tricky to unlock all moves. |
| Disaster Flame | + The best technique for a Cursed Energy Damage build. + Excellent scaling for the required stat investment. - Not the most beginner-friendly technique to use and scale. - Feels underpowered if not built right. |
| Straw Doll | + Low-risk, high-reward Innate Technique. Allows you to fatally damage enemies from a safe distance. + The Hair Steal x Resonance combo is highly effective in PvE and PvP. - Other moves are underwhelming as stand-alones, making the Straw Doll feel like a one-trick pony. |
| Ratio | + One of the quickest Innate Techniques in the game. + Excellent mobility moves, perfect for dodge-based combat. + Very good damage output, especially for the Ratio Jump and Collapse. + Has one of the best counter moves (Rocksolid Counter). - Must get a weapon to use the moves. |
B Tier
| Technique | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
| Blazing Courage | + A well-rounded Innate Technique that’s effective in PvP and PvE. + Good for beginners and experienced players alike. - Falls off a little in late-game content, so you might want to try your luck getting the A or S tier techniques later on. |
| Crystal Formation | + Highly beginner-friendly Innate Technique. + Has a mix of ranged, melee, and AoE attacks. + Offers a nice defensive and attack boost with Crystal Armor. - Gets overpowered by other Innate Techniques in PvP and struggles against stronger NPCs and bosses. |
C Tier
| Technique | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
| Earth Manipulation | + Good for early PvE, but you should definitely reroll when you have gems. - Weakest Innate Technique in the game. - Slow moves that are easily dodged by NPCs in PvE and other players in PvP. - Attacks are hard to land and do very little damage. - Domain Expansion doesn’t offer much of a boost to the moves. |
| Explosive Flesh | + Good damage output of every move. + Can be good for experienced players who have mastered combat timing. - Apart from Explosion Punch, all moves can be easily dodged by stronger enemies and experienced players (PvP). - Stat requirements are too high for an Epic Innate Technique. |
