You can find our SpongeBob Tower Defense tier list in the table above. Even though the difference in the units menu seems minor between each character, they actually all have unique attacks and mechanics that can make them worth more than some higher-rarity characters.
For example, units like Handsom Squidward, Slappy Laszlo, and Garry can slow, while Princess Mindy and Flying Dutchman have line AoE attacks, which makes them worth placing on corners. For more details, check the SpongeBob TD unit list and descriptions below.
Limited SpongeBob TD Units
Limited units are fairly unique in SpongeBob Tower Defense as you can only get them by participating in events, and they are usually OP and towards the top of the tier list. Currently, the only limited unit is the Soaring Starfish, which you can now get only via trading.

Common SpongeBob TD Units
Similarly to uncommon units, the common ones are virtually useless now in SpongeBob Tower Defense. The only exceptions are SpongeBob and Squidward, which are good for the first few story stages, and that's why they aren't glued to the bottom of the tier list like all the others.
