Demonic Powers: +20% Movement Speed +20% Attack Speed +20% Fire Damage +30% Height +10% Width and Depth +20% Physical Damage. Cursed Aura: During combat, an area forms around you, dealing 10% of your current weapon damage each second Backfire: +25% chance to burn enemies when you take damage | + Demon is the best offensive race in The Forge due to increased Fire and Physical Damage stat. + Passives like Cursed Aura further scale your damage output along with Demonic Powers + Backfire and Devil Finger are excellent counters if you are punished for being too aggressive |
A Tier - Work Great
| Race Name & Passives | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
![]() Dragonborn (Legendary) Passives Sharp Fangs: +12% Physical Damage Dragon’s Breath: 40% chance to burn enemies, dealing 30% of your weapon’s damage per second for 3 seconds Durable Scales: +20% Max Health +10% Height | + Dragonborn provides you with an increase in overall Max Health and Physical Damage, a great thing to have from the start. + Dragon's Breath provides additional burn damage along with weapon damage. If you also apply the Flame Spark Rune to your weapon, you'll deal even more Burn damage - Slightly RNG focused due to chance, as you won't be dealing Burn damage all the time. |
![]() Minotaur (Legendary) Passives Bull’s Fury: Falling beneath 50% Health after being damaged sends you into Rage Mode, increasing movement speed and physical damage by 30% Beast: +10% Height +20% Health -10% Stamina +20% Width and Depth. | + Increase in Height and Health + Bull's Fury is a clutch ability/passive that allows you to escape from any dangerous situation. - The Stamina Tradeoff isn't great for most of the time, but it is made up for by the Bull's Fury in fighting. |
B Tier - Keep Until You Can Get a Better One
| Race Name & Passives | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
![]() Shadow (Epic) Passives Phantom Step: You have a 15% chance to become a Shadow and evade an incoming attack when taking damage Shadow Pact: +10% Attack Speed +15% Movement Speed +5% Physical Damage +10% Stamina -10% Health | + Shadow Pact increases damage and movement speed, meaning you can both focus enemies and disengage easy. + Phantom Step is another powerful tool for engaging with the Mobs. - The 15% chance for an evade is way too low. - Another build that's primarily focused on fighting and not mining. |
![]() Golem (Legendary) Passives Heavy Hitter: +15% Attack speed for Heavy Weapons Tank: +30% Health and Size -10% Movement Speed Stone Heart: You have a 50% chance to reduce incoming damage by 25% | + An Increase of Health by 30% is a Massive Bonus for the Tanky Golem build. + The 50% Chance for Stone Heart to activates adds to the tankiness of the build. - You're limited to using Heavy Weapons if you want benefits from passives like Heavy Hitter. - The reduction isn't too bad, but it can get annoying. |
![]() Orc (Rare) Passives Muscular: +10% Physical Damage +15% Health +10% Size Heavy: -10% Stamina -10% Movement Speed | + Increase in Damage and Health Stat makes you tankier againts Mobs. - Movement and Stamina take a substantial debuff, and this isn't really a game where you want to be slow. |
![]() Undead (Rare) Passives Second Chance: Restores 50% Health when you drop below 10%, with a 5-minute cooldown Sharp Surface: You reflect 10% of the damage you receive. | + The 50% Health Restore is a clutch ability, allowing you to disengage before dying. + The 10% Damage Reflection is again useful in clearing mobs - No Increase in Mining stats does make it a bit unbalanced. - The Health Restore cooldown means you have to be extremely careful and disengage if you get swarmed by mobs. |
C Tier Classes - Maybe for The Start but You Should Reroll
| Race Name & Passives | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
![]() Dwarf (Epic) Passives Gifted Miner: +15% Mining +5% to Better Forging Critical Mining: You have a 20% chance to inflict 50% additional damage to rocks Heavy Short: -20% Height -5% Movement Speed | + Unsurprisingly, Dwarf Passives provide some excellent boost when it comes to mining. + This race can take you pretty far into the game, especially with an additional boost to better forging, which means better equipment. - Decrease in the Movement Speed is noticeable. - No boosts in fighting mean you could get easily overwhelmed by mobs, especially on the Second World. |
![]() Elf (Uncommon) Passives Glorious: +3% Luck Superior Genes: +15% Stamina +5% Height | + Increase in Luck and Stamina is a bonus, especially when mining for rare Ores. - No Focus on Fighting or Survivability, and even that Luck boost isn't all that great. |
![]() Goblin (Rare) Passives Sneaky: +15% Movement Speed +10% Dagger Attack Speed Tiny: -15% Health -15% Size Bargain: +12% Discount when Shopping | + Increase in Movement Speed. + The Bargain comes in handy while buying expensive items like better Pickaxes. - The Decrease in 15% of Health makes the character too squishy. - Dagger Attack Speed boost limits you to a weapon that isn't going to be great late game. |
D Tier Classes - Immediately Reroll
| Race Name & Passives | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
![]() Zombie (Uncommon) Passives Mutated Genes: +2% Health Regeneration every 5 Seconds Rotten: -25% Max Health Absorb: 15% chance to convert incoming damage into Health | + Mutated Genes is effective early on in fights, as it can heal you especially when you are attacked by higher lvl mobs. - Zombie is squishy due to a substantial decrease in HP. - The 15% Luck chance for Absorb is way too low. - While objectively funny that the Goblins won't let you approach the Goblin King as a Zombie, if you want to open the secret area in World 2, you will have to reroll to a different race. |
![]() Human (Common) Passives Blessed: +3% Luck +3% Experience | + Increase in Luck and XP - No focus on fighting, survivability, or mining |
How to roll for a Race in The Forge

To reroll a Race in The Forge, simply follow the given steps.
- Go to the Wizard Tower (the path leading up next to the Tome NPC), and meet the Wizard NPC.
- The Race screen will open up.
- Use your Race Rolls to start spinning for a new Race. These are different rarities so your best chances are getting races like Human, with the Angel and Demon being the most difficult to obtain (0.5% chance).
What is the Best Race for Combat in The Forge?
When it comes to combat in the Forge, if you can get either of the Legendary Races (Angel or Demon), you will be set for the entire game. However, chances of getting them are extremely low, in which case I suggest going for the next best thing, which is the Dragonborn. The additional burn damage, as well as extra Physical Damage and Health are really beneficial, especially at the start of the game.
Which Race is Best for Mining?
If you are lucky, Angel is extremely useful for mining with the +25% Luck Boost working in your favor to get all of the rarer Ores and complete quests easier. However, if you just want to get to your job in the Mines and ignore any and all combat, then go for the Dwarf. Not only does this race provide you with substantial benefits to mining, but also to forging weapons and armor.
The Forge Race Tier List FAQ
Angel and Demon are some of the best races in the game overall, but the Angel is just slightly ahead because of the well balanced movement speed, damage boosts, as well as a gratuitous Luck boost for mining.
Are the races assigned randomly in The Forge?
Yes, the races are gacha RNG based. If you land on a good race, you can keep it or spin again with Race Rerolls, which can be obtained using Robux or Forge codes.
How many races can you keep in The Forge?
There are three Race Slots for every player in The Forge. The first one is free; however, the remaining two can be unlocked for Robux and after you reach a certain level.
