To get to Pumpkin Woods, head southeast from Evergrind City through the Southern Evergrind Fields. The area is full of enemies, so I recommend using summons like Frosty Friend to get through it. Continue moving east until you pass the witch's gingerbread house, then head north into the cave entrance behind it to reach the puzzle (pictured above).

To solve the Pumpkin Woods puzzle, you'll need to push the Rune block to the Rune tile on the opposite side of the square. While there are multiple ways this puzzle can be solved, I recommend following the steps below to get through it as quickly as possible.

Step One

To start the puzzle, push the block immediately to the left of the Rune block up once, then right once. It should be north of the Rune block when you're done.

Step Two

Next, head to the block at the bottom of the puzzle, closest to the Rune block. Push this block to the left one time.

Step Three

Face north, and push the block in front of you forward by two tiles. It should be one row apart from the Rune block.

Step Four

From here, head around to the right side of the Rune block. Push the Rune Block left by two tiles and up by one, until it's flush with the previous block.

Step Five

The next step is to move the first block to the right of the Rune tile. Push this block down once, right once, up once, then right again.

Step Six

Next, head to the right side of the block diagonal from the previous one. Push the block left once, then down by two tiles. It should be at the bottom row of the puzzle.

Step Seven

Head to the right side of the Rune block and push it left by four tiles. It should be above the previous block with a one-tile gap between them.

Step Eight

Next, go back to the block south of the Rune block. Push it one tile to the right, then up by two tiles. The Rune block should be directly to its left.

Step Nine

Look for the block at the leftmost end of the puzzle along the bottom row (pictured above). Stand to the left of this block and push it right five times, then up once. The bottom row will now be free of any blocks.

Step Ten

From here, you'll need to put a new block in the previous one's place. To do so, stand north of the block closest to the Rune tile (pictured above). Push the block down two tiles, then one tile to the left.

Step Eleven

At this point, you're free to push the Rune block all the way to the Rune tile and complete the puzzle. You'll need to push the Rune block down two tiles, then left by three tiles, up three tiles, and finally right by one tile. The Rune tile will glow with purple light, causing the bars behind you to open.

All Pumpkin Woods puzzle rewards in Secrets of Grindea

For completing the Pumpkin Woods puzzle, you'll receive three items: the Baby Devil's Horns, the Lantern Lamp, and the Witch Hat. The Baby Devil's Horns increase your ATK stat by 18, while the Witch Hat increases your MATK by 18. Both are hat items and are very strong for the early game; I recommend equipping whichever one boosts your preferred attacking stat more.

Meanwhile, the Lantern Lamp is not an equippable item. Rather, it's a piece of decor that you can place in your character's home to customize it. Though it doesn't have any purpose in battle, it does serve as a small light source to spruce up your house. All three items are worthwhile rewards for solving the Pumpkin Woods puzzle, and I strongly suggest picking them up while completing quests in the area.
