A Science Baby is a new feature added in The Sims 4's Infant Update, allowing your Sim to use a mix of genetic material to create a baby without becoming pregnant themselves - AKA via surrogacy. Here's how to get a Science Baby in The Sims 4 Infant Update.

How do you get a Science Baby in The Sims 4

Having a Science Baby in The Sims 4 is easy. And the best part? Once you've initiated the process by coughing up some Simoleons, your newborn infant will be delivered to you instantly, similar to adoption in the game. No waiting around for nine months!

To have a Science Baby, open your Sim's phone by clicking on the phone icon in the tray on the bottom left of your screen, then select the Home menu. From here, you can decide to either have a Science Baby with someone you know or by yourself by choosing either "Have Science Baby With..." or "Have Science Baby as Single Parent."

Once you've chosen your desired option and have paid the 1,200 Simoleons required to have a Science Baby, a menu will pop up asking you to confirm whether you're ready to add a newborn to your household. Select "OK."

Your Sim will visit the hospital and use their genetic material to create a newborn baby. A second menu will appear asking you to name your new infant - either type your own or click on the dice to select a random name.

Now your Sim's baby has a name. It will appear in their home in a bassinet, where your Sim can interact with it at will with options like "Coo At," "Cuddle," and "Make Silly Face." Aww.
