How to get Strawberries – Sims 4

Strawberries? Sweet!

While food is important for eating in The Sims 4, many foods have other properties that are far more important than simply keeping hunger at bay! While you do, of course, need food to hold back hunger, particular foods are required for some cooking recipes, staying fit and (looking) healthy, and even for some special benefits and effects such as affecting the gender of your baby! One of these is the humble strawberry, which can influence having a girl. So, if you want to know how to get Strawberries in Sims 4, read on!

Where to find strawberries in The Sims 4

In essence, there are three ways to get strawberries in Sims 4. You can find them growing naturally on bushes, grow them yourself from seeds, or buy them from a store. Each of these has its advantages and disadvantages, though, so it’s going to be up to you which best serves your needs.

The free way to get strawberries is to search the maps to find them growing naturally and then pick them. Unfortunately, strawberries are an uncommon fruit, and there is no guarantee you’ll find them when you want them! I’ve found them all over the place at random times, such as Magnolia Blossom Park and Willow Creek, and sometimes in Windenburg and Sylvan Glade, but this can take up a lot of time and frustration.

If, like mine, your Sim has green fingers, you can get definite results by using strawberry seeds and growing them on your own patch for a guaranteed source of strawberries. However, for this, you’re going to need to buy seed packs or strawberry seeds shops. Strawberry seeds can be bought individually (and expensively!), or they can be found in two seed packs:

  • Seasonal Spring Pack: Only available as part of the Seasons expansion pack (§100).
  • Farmer Flowers and Fruit: Base game (§75).

Strawberries will grow as a bush in Spring (since Seasons) and can also be grown in vertical gardens.
