If you have ever wanted to bring a Sim back from the dead, then you are in luck. Ambrosia is a longstanding item through the Sims franchise, but some don't know about it. Here's how to make this mythical concoction.

What do you need to make Ambrosia in The Sims 4?

There are several different items you'll need to make Ambrosia. Getting them will require some time and patience. In order to make Ambrosia, you'll need these ingredients:

  • Angelfish
  • Death Flower
  • Potion of Youth

In addition to the specific ingredients, there is a necessity to have a high enough skill level to obtain those things. The skills you'll be required to have for the Sim who makes the Ambrosia are:

  • Gardening: Level 5+
  • Cooking: Level 10
  • Gourmet Cooking: Level 10
  • Fishing: Level 10
    • You can sometimes catch an Angelfish with less than Level 10 Fishing Skill, but this is not a guarantee and often fluctuates with factors like the location and bait you attach.

Where to get Ambrosia Ingredients in The Sims 4

To get an Angelfish, you'll need to fish...a lot. Make sure to have a maximum fishing skill level and use various different baits to increase your chances of catching an Angelfish. The chances of getting the fish are randomized, so be sure to be patient.

For a Death Flower, you'll have to garden quite a bit. You'll need to graft multiple plants together. Here is the order of grafting that you will need:

  • Make an Orchid by grafting a Lily and a Snapdragon.
  • To make a Pomegranate, graft Apple and Cherry plants.
  • Finally, graft an Orchid with a Pomegranate.

To acquire the Potion of Youth, you'll need 1500 satisfaction points. You can get these by fulfilling the wishes of your Sim. Points are accrued per individual Sim, not by household. Redeem the points in the Rewards Store to get the potion.

Once you have your Gourmet Cooking Skill up to Level 10 and you have the right ingredients, you'll need an oven on your lot. Go to the oven and choose the Ambrosia option under Cook a Gourmet Meal. You'll then wait for your Sim to finish cooking the ambrosia before you can finally give it to your ghost Sim.

What does Ambrosia in The Sims 4 do?

As you may know, if you're a long-time Sims player, Ambrosia resurrects a ghost Sim from the dead. Your Sim target has to be around as a ghost. If their spirit has already faded, Ambrosia won't work. Ambrosia is only a single serving that can be used once before another serving must be made with new ingredients.

Are there any cheats to get Ambrosia in The Sims 4?

There are a couple of ways to make getting Ambrosia much easier for your Sim, but there is not a direct ambrosia cheat. If you want to acquire the ingredients more easily, you can cheat your skill level with the stats.set_skill_level formula. For players who just want to cheat to get the Ambrosia ingredients, use the bb.showhiddenobjects cheat to get the items out of build/buy mode.
