For the longtime fans of the franchise, the wait is over. Skate., the newest iteration in the franchise is skating into early access soon, so here's the exact release date, trailer and more about the game to keep you on your toes (and hopefully on your board too).
When is The Skate Release Date?
Skate officially releases into early access on September 16, 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, as well as PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and EA app. The game will have cross-platform and cross-progression, with possible restrictions.
Is skate. multiplayer?
Yes, skate. is an open world game with multiplayer which you and your friends can enjoy, or you and a bunch of strangers, because it's all about community. San Vansterdam, skate's unique city is separated into four neighborhoods which you'll get to explore.

Mike McCartney, the Executive Producer of skate. has said that "their goal with the game is to capture the freedom, creative expression and community of skateboarding, and share it with as many people as possible."
You'll be skating and grinding across all available surfaces in San Vansterdam, but you'll also get to roam off-board too. Quick Drop will allow you to create the perfect skating spot on your own by placing ramps, rails, benches whenever and wherever you want. If you can't find the right angle, you can make it!
Apart from free roam and being creative on the fly, you'll also be able to participate in various challenges across town, showing off your skills to anyone around. If you don't know where the action is, the new Spectate Mode will find it for you, while Spectaport will drop you right into the middle of a live session.
Each new season of Skate will bring with it fresh content, challenges, cosmetics, updates to the world, as well as various new events. You can look forward to never getting bored in San Van as you learn the secrets and best skating places of the city.
