The Defender is one of the best early-game battleships you can craft in Skull and Bones, but getting its blueprint might be tricky for new players. In this guide, I'll explain how you can get the Defender Blueprint in the game.
Where to get the Defender blueprint in Skull and Bones
Getting the Defender Blueprint is straightforward if you know where to find it. You can buy the Defender Blueprint from a Fara Warrior Merchant in the Sacred Tree outpost (Rova Hill Region) for 1980 Silver Coins.
To get to the Sacred Tree Outpost, you need to traverse a small ravine near the Tsifo Lumberyard. Follow the ravine, and you'll end up at the Tamby Foundry. Once you're at the Tamby Foundry, head west until you see another section of the ravine and traverse its narrow path. Near the end of the ravine, one of your crewmates will scream that they see an outpost allowing you to disembark on the Sacred Tree.
Once you get to the Sacred Tree outpost, you can find the Fara Warrior on the right side of the docking area. Interact with her, and you can purchase the "Hulk" Blueprint. Go back to Saint Anne, and you can now craft the Defender ship.

How to craft the Defender in Skull & Bones
Crafting the Defender is easy, as it has almost the same requirements as the Cutter. Here are the materials required to craft the Defender:
- Bronze Ingot x6 - You can get these from plundering the Sitrana Settlement. Alternatively, you can purchase this from them as well.
- Iroko Plank x6 - The lowest level settlement you can plunder for the Iroko Planks is the Tanjona near the border of River-Mouths.
- Fine Jute x12 - The best plunder site for Fine Jutes is Guérande, south of Saint-Anne.
- 1080 silver coins
Crafting the Defender, you'll have a fantastic battle-ship for the early game. Here are the stats of the Defender:
Stat Name | Stats |
Perk | Ironclad 1. Reduces Brace Strength depletion by 20% 2. Increases Brace Strength by 250% and recovery by 25% |
Hull | 30000 |
Brace | 24000 |
Speed | 8 Knots |
Trim | 10 Knots |
Cargo | 46000 |
Stamina | 100 |
Acceleration | 2 |
Deceleration | 4 |
Turning | 18 |
The Defender isn't ideal for navigating the vast and wide ocean of Skull and Bones. However, it excels in combat much more efficiently than the Cutter because of its Ironclad Perk. If you're looking for a decent ship that you can use to plunder settlements, I recommend crafting the Defender as soon as possible.
