Sons of the Forest got a major release, with Update 7 introducing many new features. Collecting trophies was featured in the previous game, although it was more of a novelty instead of having any practical use; it's nice to see that they reintroduced this feature in the sequel as well. It's a perfect way of showing off your hunting collection and making your lodge feel more cozy while you sleep in a cannibal-infested forest. Let's dive into how to obtain some!

How to craft Animal Trophies in Sons of the Forest

You can craft an Animal Trophy in Sons of the Forest out of any creature that can be skinned. That means you can create Trophies from animals and Mutants. Follow the steps below:

  • Find an animal you wish to make a Trophy out of and hunt it down. I recommend a moose due to its horns' size and elegance.
  •  Once you kill the animal, skin it by pressing and holding E on your keyboard.
  •  Aside from the items you would normally obtain, you will also get the head. Look for the Trophy icon and press E to pick it up. The head will be added to your inventory alongside any meat and skin.
  •  Pull out your building manual by pressing B on your keyboard once you find a suitable surface to mount the Head Trophy.
  •  Select the Furniture section.
  •  Select the Head Trophy Mount recipe. You will only need a single Stick to craft the Mount.
  •  Place the Head Trophy Mount onto the desired surface by left-clicking on it.
  •  Press E on the Head Trophy Mount to open the side inventory and choose the desired head to put on the Mount.
