Sons of the Forest is a game about surviving on a remote island. You need to do everything to stay alive. Death, however, is inevitable. It's a part of the learning experience as you get good at survival. What really happens, though, when you die in Sons of the Forest? What are the consequences? Read more below to find out.
Consequences for Dying in Sons of the Forest
Single-player
If you die for the first time while playing single-player, you will wake up held in the mutants camp with an objective to escape. You still get to keep your inventory during this time. However, if you die for the second time, you will see a cutscene showing the days you've spent alive. You will be given a choice to either start from the last save or start over from the beginning.

Multiplayer
Regardless of the number of times you die in multiplayer, you will get the choice to start the game from the last save with no loss of inventory. So the best way to stay safe is to remember to save the game regularly in case you do end up dying.
Surviving is tough, but you can still take as many precautions as possible and do your best to save the game at every possible point. This way, if you die, you can simply respawn at the last save. This is all you need to know about dying and respawning in Sons of the Forest.
