As we’ve come to expect in action survival games, staying warm is essential, and it's no different in Soulmask. But the bonfire is more than just warmth; it is an integral part of tribe building, so read on to find out how to make one.
How to make a Bonfire in Soulmask
The key to success in Soulmask is getting Tribesmen to rally to your cause and the first step in the process is building a Bonfire. It acts as a beacon to attract others to your cause and until you have built one, you won’t be able to attract your first tribesperson.
It's also an important part of your first shelter, as while you have a Bonfire inside your building it will help to stop the building degrade. Note that your initial building should be on a 3x3 foundation (minimum) with the bonfire exactly in the middle. This is because you can’t build a wall on the side of a foundation that has any part of the Bonfire on it.
What skills do you need to make a Bonfire?
To make a Bonfire in Soulmask, you’ll need to take the bonfire skill. This is at the very top of the second section of the skill tree, Dawn of the New Tribe (marked below).
It does not require any Tech Points, but you will have to have an Awareness Strength of 5. If you don’t have enough Awareness Strength yet, you can earn it by crafting or fighting. Once you have 5, the Bonfire will become available to learn.
What ingredients do you need to make a Bonfire?
Once you have learned the skill, you will need the following ingredients to make a Bonfire:
- Branch x10
- Stone x10
- Flint x10
Branches can be found on the ground or gathered from any tree. Stones can also be found by picking them up off the ground, but you’ll need to gather from rocks to get flint. You will find bonfire in the Building section of the Crafting menu, marked above.
