Differences between fidelity and performance mode in Spiderman 2

Spiderman 2 game graphics mode brings several differences between the two settings, as described below.

Performance ModeTargets 60 frames per second.
Includes all ray-tracing features, albeit simplified in certain situations.
Pedestrian and traffic density may be decreased in some areas.
Fine hair detail is simplified.
Fidelity ModeTargets 30 frames per second.
Offers the highest image quality and resolution possible.
All ray-tracing features are on, including objects such as water, reflections, and windows interiors.
All graphics systems are at a maximum at all times, which includes Pedestrian and traffic density.
Fine hair detail is at maximum at all times.

While I usually always prefer the Performance mode in games, I am delighted to say the Fidelity mode in Spider-Man 2 really delivers stable frame rates without any noticeable stuttering, even while I am in crowded areas. The performance difference was negligible even as I was fighting the Sandman (one of the game's easier villains). Below is a comparison sample between the two game modes.

  • Select Settings.
  • Select the Visual option.
  • Under the graphics selection, toggle between Fidelity and Performance modes.
    • Use left and right d-pad commands to adjust.
