Announced during the Xbox Partner Preview, Spirit of the North 2 is an upcoming title for the Xbox Series X|S. Here's what we know about it so far.
Spirit of the North 2 trailer and gameplay
In the nearly one minute and 30-second trailer, we get a glimpse at what the world of Spirit of the North 2 has to offer. If it's following in the footsteps of its predecessor, this will be another game with no dialogue or story to follow. Instead, you'll be left to your own devices to explore the world as you see fit.
There does seem to be a bit of a story here, as the trailer description says you'll be taking on the role of a fox with a raven companion in an effort to seek out lost guardians. You have to release them from a dark shaman by the name of Grimnir, so there is a task for you to complete. It looks like there is going to be a lot of exploration, but at least you know where you're going.
The trailer shows us it's going to be a beautiful world to explore, and perhaps it'll be taking advantage of the horsepower the current-gen consoles have to offer. We know the Xbox Series consoles are guaranteed, but what about the rest?
Spirit of the North 2 release date and platforms
Spirit of the North 2 will be launching on Xbox Series X|S, and there's no reason to suspect it won't be arriving on the other platforms as well. The first game was available across Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC. The Enhanced Edition ended up getting current-gen ports to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
No release date was given for Spirit of the North 2 outside of an ambiguous "coming soon" screen at the end of the trailer. If you're looking for something more concrete, Still Wakes the Deep was announced at the same showcase and given a release date of 2024.
