If you have played any FPS game then you have more than likely found yourself enjoying a game of Capture the Flag. Splitgate is a fast-paced FPS that utilizes portals to traverse the map. So you may be wondering if Splitgate has CTF.
The answer is yes and no. Splitgate's modes have changed throughout its lifetime and while the mode was once available, it isn't anymore. Having portals at your disposal makes CTF hard to balance.

The dilemma is: how does the flag interact with portals? Allowing flags to go through portals means players could instantly teleport back to base with the flag and score points. Not being able to take the flag through portals makes it easy for the other team to kill the flag carrier as they can teleport anywhere on the map.
Splitgate has numerous game modes and while none are truly Capture the Flag, there are a few that play similarly. Team Oddball and Splitball both require one player on the team to capture a ball while their teammates guard them. They don't need to return the ball to their base score but instead carry it. Until 1047 Games figure out how to balance CTF—this may be the closest players get.
