Star Wars Outlaws has everything you'd expect from a space adventure - quirky characters, laser fights, droids, space travels, etc. But is there romance in Star Wars Outlaws? Can you expect to fall in love like in Baldur's Gate?
Can you romance companions in Star Wars Outlaws?
There is no romance in Star Wars Outlaws. Kay's feelings in the game are reserved for her cute pet, Nix. Other than that, the closest you'll feel loved is when the ND-5 battle droid defends you against enemies. Other than that, you may feel love for the money, as Kay is all about getting as many credits as she can get. It's not easy being an outlaw in the galaxy far, far away.
The most you can hope for is to be respected in Star Wars Outlaws. By completing quests, your reputation among syndicates will grow, making you feel important and powerful. Honestly, Kay doesn't have time to deal with romantic feelings, as she plans to become a successful thief. She's like Boba Fett, a loner looking to prove their worth in the underworld. That's not to say she won't fall for a Rebel when the time comes.
When you think about it, it's not like Kay has a decent romantic option anyway. All characters she meets in the game are either back-stabbing mobsters, back-stabbing Rebels, or droids. Unless something changes in the potential Star Wars Outlaws DLC, Kay will stay focused on her career.
I'm fine with this choice, as having an Andor-like character focused on a mission is a nice change. I guess some fans were hoping for Baldur's Gate romantic options (Wookies instead of a bears?), but that's not happening in Outlaws. At least not for now.
