What to do with Stolen Artwork in Starfield

Sell contrabands to make extra Credits.

In Starfield, players can find various contrabands and stolen items that can be sold for a lot of Credits, but there is a catch: these items are essentially illegal, which means you should not be caught with them while entering any planet. Players looking to be sneaky and smuggle these contrabands will have the risk of being caught. Here's what you can do with Stolen Artwork in Starfield.

Where to sell Stolen Artwork in Starfield

In Starfield, Contraband items such as Stolen Artwork, Aurora, Harvested Organs, and certain other goods are considered illegal and are strictly off-limits from several planets. However, there is a way you can sell them to fetch a lot of Credits. To sell the Stolen Artwork or any other contraband, players can visit the Trade Authority building found on various planets across the galaxy.

Before you enter a planet, your ship is thoroughly scanned by space authorities such as UC security or Freestar Collective. If you possess contraband inside your spaceship, it will be detected, and you will have to surrender the items. Contrabands are recognized with a yellow icon and are usually stolen from enemy hideouts, pirate ships, or enemy outposts.

However, there is a way to avoid getting detected by the space authorities if you plan to smuggle contraband or stolen items. You can add a Scan Jammer or Shielded Cargo to your spaceship by visiting Lon Anderssen (vendor) over at The Red Mile located at Porrima 3 (Porrima System).

Speak to this NPC to access the Ship Builder menu, attach Shielded Cargo modules, and Scan Jammers onto your ship. The Shielded Cargo modules will have a specific weight capacity, so make sure the total contraband you are carrying doesn't exceed its limit. This will prevent the contrabands from being detected by the scanners while entering the planet. You can also store it in the safe at the lodge after successfully evading the scan while entering New Atlantis (Jemison).

Alternatively, you can also unlock the Deception skill to reduce the efficiency of scans by different space police factions. Players looking to take an alternate route can purchase Shielded Cargo after joining the Crimson Fleet Faction. Upon joining, visit the Key Space Station, where you will meet a vendor called Jasmine, from whom you can purchase Shielded Cargo to attach to your ship.
