Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin has somewhat of a learning curve, eschewing some traditional RPG elements with more focus on faced-paced gameplay and flashy action. While the game does a decent job of explaining its core mechanics and controls near the start, it won't lock you into a single set of controls that you may dislike for an entire playthrough.
Fortunately, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin allows players to easily switch up their controller layout between three settings: Type A (default), Type B, and Custom. Simply access your System Settings tab from any in-game menu, then choose Control Settings to bring up the controller menu (seen below).

Type A and B are fixed settings. If you choose Custom, however, you'll unlock a prompt to edit your layout in the lower-right corner. Choosing this option will allow you to change the entire layout to your liking.
