Guns to get early in System Shock (Map Locations)

These are the best guns to use early on in System Shock.

While playing System Shock, I came across several weapons that can be used to take down mutants, assassins, and other types of enemies. These weapons are scattered across different regions on the map, and you need to discover these areas first by navigating through the levels. Naturally, you need to know where to find these weapons and how to use them in-game. Here are the best guns to get early in System Shock.

Best weapons to get in System Shock

JW-74 Mag Pulse Rifle

The JW-74 Mag Pulse Rifle is one of the earliest guns you will find in System Shock. The JW-74 Mag Pulse Rifle is a semi-auto weapon that requires Magnetic-Pulse Cartridges, and it deals 60 damage with 100% armor penetration. It is located in the Ammo Depot at Delta Quadrant in Level 1 Medical Bay.

After reaching the Delta Quadrant through the Healing Suite, you need to navigate to the Ammo Depot. Check the yellow circle on the second image above to see the exact location of the JW-74 Mag Pulse Rifle in System Shock.

TB-05 Sparqbeam Sidearm

The TB-05 Sparqbeam Sidearm is unquestionably the best weapon to use in the early game. This weapon is located inside Doctor Nathan D'arcy's room at the Central Hub in Level 1 Medical Bay. The reason why I said this is the best gun is because it is an energy-type weapon that doesn't require ammunition. At the same time, this weapon has three different charge modes that you can turn on to deal more damage to enemies.

The TB-05 Sparqbeam Sidearm can be set to Low, High, and Over Charged modes. The low mode uses 4 volts of energy, dealing 18 damage and 30% armor penetration. The high mode uses 9 volts of energy, dealing 36 damage with 60% armor penetration. The over mode is highly volatile and can damage the weapon for a short while. The over mode uses 36 volts to deal 90 damage with 80% armor penetration. We highly recommend using this weapon in low or high mode.

KE-41 Mini Pistol

The KE-41 Mini Pistol is another great weapon and it is more commonly available than the other guns. You will find it at several spots across the map, but the best way to get this gun easily is to head for Althea Grossman's room at the Central Hub in Level 1 Medical Bay. This room is located just beside Doctor Nathan D'arcy's cabin, so it should be easy enough to find. Check the yellow circle on the map image above to see the exact location of this room. The KE-41 Mini Pistol is a semi-auto gun that deals 20 damage with 20% armor penetration.
