Guide to Mishima Family Relationships

The Mishimas are an old family of samurais who turned into successful businesspeople after the Meiji restoration. Their conglomerate is called Mishima Zaibatsu, and they are mostly fighting with each other for the leading place. The list below will present Mishimas as they appeared in the Tekken games.

Kazuya Mishima

Kazuya is the main character of the first Tekken game, the son of Heihachi Mishima and the Devil Gene user. He feels a vast hatred toward his father and tries to kill him every now and then. Additionally, Kazuya is a founder of the G-Corp corporation that fought against Mishima Zaibatsu. Fun fact: he likes to collect sneakers.

Heihachi Mishima

The patriarch of the Mishima Clan and Kazuya's father. He's obsessed with harnessing the Devil Gene's power, and he turns his son against him through ruthless training. He was the final boss of the first Tekken. Turns out he has a lot more children than we thought, but more on that later.

Jun Kazama

Jun had her debut in Tekken 2. She's an environmental protection officer, and she pursued Kazuya for smuggling rare animals. However, instead of fighting, the two of them fall in love and have an affair. Jun vanished after Tekken 2, and she didn't appear in mainline games until Tekken 8.

Jin Kazama

Jin is the son of Kazuya and Jun and the main character of every Tekken game since the third one. He inherited Devil Gene from Kazuya and trained with his grandpa, Heihachi, to gain control over his powers. Unfortunately, Heihachi betrays Jin, which he doesn't take well, turning into a villain. Tekken 8 brought Jin's redemption arc and the final destruction of Devil Gene. Or did it?

Jinpachi Mishima

Jinpachi was introduced as the main villain in Tekken 5. He's Heihachi's father and, despite not having Devil Gene, an extremely powerful fighter. He's also the founder and the first chairman of the Mishima family company. He's also known as the first non-playable boss in the Tekken series.

Lars Alexandersson

Lars is an odd branch to the Mishima family tree since he's another Heihachi's child. His mother is still an unknown Swedish woman. Since Heihachi doesn't have Devil Gene, Lars also doesn't have it. He's also the leader of a rebel army that fights against G-Corp (the company founded by Kazuya).

Kazumi Mishima

Kazumi is the late wife of Heihachi Mishima and the original carrier of Devil Gene, who passed it on to Kazuya and Jin Kazama. Although her presence was hinted at in earlier games, she didn't appear until Tekken 7, where she was a final boss.

Reina Mishima

Reina is the latest addition to the Mishima family, and she appeared in Tekken 8. Her fighting style is similar to Heihachi, and her ending implies she's the last remaining user of Devil Gene. If that is true, Reina will probably be the main villain in Tekken 9.
