Password Game Rule 16: Best Move in Algebraic Chess Notation

The Password Game is a web-based game by Neal Fun, where you're challenged to create the most secure password ever by following a series of prompts. This has been the most fun viral game that I've played in a long time because the prompts are really fun to solve—but they can be a little challenging as well. Rule 16 requires you to input the best move in algebraic chess notation based on the chessboard arrangement provided. Here's how to solve it.

How to solve best move in algebraic chess notation – The Password Game Rule 16

The chessboard that appears in The Password Game's Rule 16 prompt is different for everyone, which means that there isn't a universal answer. But don't worry, finding the algebraic chess notation is easy and doesn't require you to do any math.

First, you must use a tool that can predict the next best chess move, such as Next Chess Move. You must recreate the exact chessboard that appears in your Password Game. It's different for every player, so reference yours and not ours. Keep the following in mind when replicating the chessboard:

• The positions of the black and white sides must be the same. In the example above, we marked the black part in pink and the white part in blue to demonstrate that they are positioned the same way (black on top and white at the bottom). If your chessboard has white on top and black at the bottom, simply Flip the Next Chess Move board so that they're the same.
• Pay attention to which color will move next. The example above states "white to move", so we made sure to select the same configuration in the Next Chess Move board (see the areas marked red).

Once you've replicated the chessboard in your Password Game, click Calculate Next Move to generate the result.

The result will be generated below the Calculate Next Move button. In the example above, the algebraic chess notation is Rxh7+, which we inputted into The Password Game to solve Rule 16. The answer is different for everyone, so base it on what appears after you set your board up.
