Misery is a mechanic in V Rising that gives you information about a prisoner's happiness levels. When imprisoned and not fed properly, a thrall's Misery can start increasing, leading to death and discontent. There are a few ways of preventing this from happening, so here's how you keep your prisoners happy.
Best ways to reduce a prisoner's Misery in V Rising
Unhappy prisoners are seldom productive, and vampires know this best. In V Rising, the higher the Misery, the less likely you are to draw blood that doesn't hurt you. In the worst cases, high Misery can even lead to the death of the prisoner.
To reduce these stats, approach the Prison Cell and simply feed the prisoner a consumable. The best option is to feed them different kinds of fish, as these consumables are easily accessible. Keep in mind that even though Rats are easier to find, they may not necessarily bring down the prisoner's Misery.
Best items to feed prisoners in V Rising
Out of all the consumables you can feed prisoners, these are the best you should be considering:
- Sage Fish: 10-20% Misery reduction.
- Swamp Dweller: 20-40% Misery reduction.
- Golden River Bass: 15-25% Misery reduction.
Where to find the best consumables to reduce Misery in V Rising (Map)
One of the best spots to fish for Sage Fish, Swamp Dwellers, and Golden River Bass is to head to Silverlight Hills. The drop rate for each of these items is 10% (or above), which makes farming for them much easier. However, do keep in mind that you need a Fishing Pole to fish in V Rising.
How to craft a Fishing Pole in V Rising
The crafting recipe for a Fishing Pole is unlocked once your vampire drinks the blood of Finn the Fisherman. Since he's a level 32 NPC, you'll have to be around that level to make the process simpler for yourself. We recommend building a castle somewhere around Silverlight Hills in order to make the farming process much more accessible. Once you've unlocked this process, keeping your prisoners' Misery down won't be too big of a problem.
