Best Heinrix Characteristics in Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader

To properly play Heinrix in Rogue Trader, here are the most important characteristics to pick when leveling him:

  • Strength: It makes him have a larger damage potential when Heinrix lands a hit.
  • Weapon Skill: Directly increases his combat proficiency and ability to parry.
  • Agility: Heinrix's primary defensive stat. It measures his reflexes and improves his Dodge chance, making him harder to hit in combat.
  • Toughness: Heinrix is primarily a melee character, which usually makes him the first to be hit. Toughness will allow him to withstand more damage and stay alive.

Best Heinrix Abilities in Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader

Here are the best Abilities to take on Heinrix while leveling him in Rogue Trader:

  • Charge: Like Abelard, Heinrix will get Charge, which is a bread-and-butter ability right from the start, for free. It allows him to move in a straight line and launch a melee attack against any target in his way. This does not count toward the attacks per turn limit the warrior has, making it a must-have in any build.
  • Endure: Great for soaking up more damage as Heinrix will be fighting in the front lines. Until Heinrix's next turn, all incoming damage is reduced by minus in Toughness, and he gains a temporary wounds bonus depending on his Toughness level. This allows him to soak up a little bit more damage.
  • Daring Breach: His ultimate ability and a must-have on any warrior, in my opinion. Heinrix will immediately restore all AP and MP, gaining +Agility MP until the end of the turn. He won't lose MP after performing attacks. He also won't have a limit on melee weapon attacks this turn. You will want to use this ability even more on Heinrix than on Abelard because he deals much more damage.
  • Invigorate: Heinrix's main biomancer spell which allows him or his allies to restore wounds while also cleansing them of negative status effects.
  • Biophysical Distortion: Gives a Poisoned negative effect to all enemies hit by Heinrix's attacks, dealing damage over time.
  • Enfeeble: Debuffs a large number of enemy targets in a huge crosshair-shaped area.

Best Heinrix Talents in Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader

This is the list of best talents for Heinrix in Rogue Trader:

  • Defensive Maneuvers: Useful talent because it increases the Dodge parameter on Heinrix. I like to play him as a quick and nimble warrior, evading damage while dishing out damage on his own, and Defensive Maneuvers play a perfect part in that strategy.
  • Enrage: Increases Heinrix's critical hit chance with his Agility, making him proc a critical hit more often, allowing for a larger overall damage output.
  • Blade of Light: Allows Heinrix to deal more damage with Force weapons, which he uses extensively.
  • Rigorous Training: Once you charge with Heinrix, this talent provides him with more movement points, allowing him to run down targets that are further in the back.
  • Psy Rating 1: The higher the Psy Rating is on Heinrix', the more powerful his biomancer spells are, so you will want to pick this Talent as often as you can.
  • Desolation: Since you will be playing Heinrix as a lone wolf operative, this talent is a must-pick because it allows him to eliminate enemies that are alone.
  • It Will Not Die: Increases the number of wounds on Heinrix by 50%, rounding up. It is great for making him tankier in case he gets separated from the rest of his party and things go wrong.

Best Heinrix Skills in Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader

Here are some of the best skills for Heinrix in Rogue Trader:

  • Coercion: Heinrix is an inquisitorial interrogator, and Coercion will go a long way in helping him get what he, and by proxy yourself, get that he wants out of people. It's very useful because it will occasionally give you additional dialogue options.
  • Carouse: Represents the ability to resist negative effects. It will provide Heinrix with additional dialogue options when available.
  • Athletics: Allows Heinrix to deal additional damage to opponents isolated from allies in adjacent cells. Works well with Desolation Talent.
  • Medicae: Allows Heinrix to heal himself and his allies, which is a very useful skill in combat, especially if things start to go awry.

Best Heinrix Items in Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader

The best items to choose for Heinrix in Rogue Trader are those that boost his Weapon Skill and Dodge. Moreover, any items that affect the armor and dodge level of enemies are also welcome. Here is the list of the best items you can obtain in the early game of Rogue Trader that will be perfect for this Idira build:

  • Biomancer staff: Gives Heinrix the Syphon life ability and reduces the amount of Action Points required for the following attacks:
    • Strike
    • Syphon Life
    • Heroic Act: Syphon Life
    • Desperate Measure: Syphon Life
  • Headhunter Light Carapace: You will mainly be looking for things that give Heinrix as big a boost to the Dodge parameter as possible. Light armors are definitely the way to go, and I really like Headhunter Light Carapace for its 30% armor boost.
  • Pneumo Boots: Great for reducing AP when you use the Charge ability.
  • Cameleoline Cloak: Thanks to this item's ability to blend the contour of the wearer to their surroundings, this piece of item gives a 10% dodge chance, which always works great on Heinrix.

How to play Heinrix in Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader

Heinrix is somewhat similar to Abelard in the sense that they are both warriors. The main difference in playing style is that, while Abelard plays like a tank (parrying and soaking up damage), Heinrix relies more on pure damage output while dodging out of the way of danger.

Like Abelard, Heinirx should be positioned at the vanguard of your force, as his primary role is a melee fighter. Besides taking the brunt of the enemy attacks and drawing the enemy's attention away as the most immediate target, he should also have an easier time using his Charge ability. The best way to describe his positioning is to treat him like Abelard but not play him as aggressively.

Upgrade his ultimate (Daring Breach) whenever you can. Heinrix will benefit mostly from additional movement points, which allow him to reach the targets much more quickly. You want to play him like an independent agent, zooming across the battlefield while taking out high-priority targets quickly.
