Here is a list of Rogue Trader features you will want to take for Jae while leveling her from level 16 to 36. In game terms, this particular build will serve you until the end of the first act in the game and will even get you through the Unfair game difficulty without any adjustments. And remember, you can always respec if you feel like something's not right with your character or if you prefer a particular playing style.

Best Jae Characteristics in Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader

To properly play Jae in Rogue Trader, here are the most important characteristics to pick when leveling her:

• Ballistic Skill: Determines Jae's accuracy. Since she will primarily be fighting in ranged combat, this skill is essential to boosting her overall effectiveness and her damage output.
• Agility: Jae is a bit of a glass canon character, so boosting her Agility goes a long way toward keeping her alive.
• Fellowship: Useful for Jae because of her Officer archetype and a Master Tactician, as it provides a boost to her Abilities, and many of her Talents rely on this Characteristic.

• Voice of Command: Allows Jae to push her allies fully, increasing their characteristics for a single round. It serves as a quick boost, ideal when making an initial assault with melee fighters.
• Bring it Down: Grants allies an ability to play an extra turn depending on her FEL bonus, but without any movement. Ideal for launching repeated attacks.
• Tactical Advantage: Gives Jae a single stack per 5 momentum gained by the Master Tactician or their allies.
• Press the Advantage: Gives her additional damage with each stack of Tactical Advantage.
• Finish the Job: Allows Jae a free shot at every enemy under 50% of Wounds.
• Directed Firestorm: Directs all allies to make a single attack to a targeted 3x3 area. This attack is free and goes well with her lore of being a very aggressive officer.
• Linchpin: The main purpose of this ability is to speed up your ultimate, allowing you to fire it more often.
• Assign Objective: Provides a permanent Characteristics buff to all party members if you manage to take down the target marked by this ability by the end of Jae's next turn. This is a very useful ability that further boosts the party's overall strengths.

Best Jae Talents in Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader

• Perfect Finish: an upgrade from Finish the Job, it boosts Jae's chance to score critical hit to 75%, which is very useful as it will allow her to crit more. This Talent will boost her ability to mop up low-wound stragglers with ease, as you don't want too many of them taking potshots at you.
• At the Edge: Extra damage to targets with less than 50% remaining wounds goes even better than the healing part of this talent, as it synergizes well with Perfect Finish, further improving Jae's ability to mop up low-health enemies quickly.
• In the Hero's Footsteps: With this Talent, Jae gets an additional turn whenever an ally triggers their ultimate, allowing her to deal more damage more often. This extra turn includes an additional amount of MP and AP to make this talent even better.
• It Will Not Die: Increases the number of wounds on Jae by 50%, rounding up. It is great for making her tankier in case she gets separated from the rest of her party and things go wrong.
• Reliance: An excellent upgrade for Linchpin as it allows Jae to trigger the ability earlier.
• Hidden Advantage: This gives Jae more Tactical Advantage stacks from her Fellowship bonus. Boosting her Tactical Advantage multiplies her damage output.
• Grenadier: Gives Jae a free Grenade shot.
• Primary Objective: Boosts the Assign Objective's Ability, making the marked target susceptible to 7% more damage from all sources. This Talent is useful when you need to soften up the target to ensure you take it down in time.
• Stacking the Deck: As you spend Tactical Advantage stacks on abilities, you will increase your critical damage by 1% every time, further boosting Jae's damage output.

Best Jae Skills in Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader

Jae doesn't use many skills in her Tier 2 build. The main one is Lore (Imperium), which boosts her fighting prowess against the agents of the Imperium of Man while also keeping up with her lore of a renegade.

• Foehammer: This is more of a single-handed shotgun than a pistol, used for knocking enemies back if they approach a bit too close to Jae.
• Sworn Protector: If you really want to hang back and pick enemies off from a distance, use this sniper rifle. Additional armor penetration will go a long way toward taking down tougher targets.
• Modified Splinter Pistol: Applies damage over time, which is useful for taking out multiple weaker targets.
• Elite Blast Pistol: Utilizes high penetration power for tankier enemies.

How to play Jae in Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader

Jae is an Officer archetype and is meant to be played aggressively in Rogue Trader. During combat, she isn't meant to change positions too much, as the main idea with her is to shoot, all the while buffing her allies. Keeping her in the back is the name of the game, but not too far back, as I've seen her be most effective with pistols.

• Press the Advantage works in conjunction with Tactical Advantage by giving Jae additional damage stacks. This goes towards triggering Linchpin to provide your allies with Momentum.
• Use Assign Objective to mark targets for termination, further buffing your allies' Characteristics in the process.
