Best Gloom Dishes to Cook in TotK (Zelda Tears of the Kingdom)

Gloom be gone.

While the sky is heavily featured in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, I found myself more attracted to The Depths. I dived into this underground world and went crazy with exploration. But I needed a way to deal with the darkness and Gloom prevalent in this area. This led me to cook dishes to gain Gloom resistance and restore my Gloom-damaged hearts. Here are the best ones.

Best Recipes for Gloom Resistance and Gloom Healing in TotK - Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Gloom Dishes

I am still experimenting with cooking and learning the best Gloom Resistant recipes in Tears of the Kingdom. The Depths have taken up much of my time, so I've needed a lot of Gloom resistance and recovery. I highly recommend picking up The Depths Armor Set from the Bargainer Statues to increase your Gloom resistance further.

  • Sundelion + Meat/Fruit/Mushroom/Fish/Hyrule Herbs (Recover Gloom Hearts)
  • Gloom Clump + Meat/Fruit/Mushroom/Fish/Hyrule Herbs (Warding)

It seems all the recipes give the same amount of Gloom Resistance or restore hearts depleted by Gloom regardless of what type of base you use. But increasing the number of Sundelions or Gloom Clumps will increase the benefits these items give when cooking. I combined four Sundelions or Dark Clumps with a single base item to get the best recipe.

All Items that give Gloom Resistance and Healing - Tears of the Kingdom

Sundelion is a healing item that restores hearts lost to Gloom, which normal healing cannot recover. Dark Clump is used to gain Gloom Resistance, preventing you from losing hearts while stepping in Gloom or getting hit by Gloom attacks. Both ingredients must be cooked before they work. Here is a list of recipes you can make with Sundelion or Dark Clump.
