How strong is the Master Sword in TotK (Zelda Tears of the Kingdom)?

Wield the legendary weapon.

No weapon in The Legend of Zelda series is as iconic as the Master Sword. My wife actually bought me a replica Master Sword, and while I certainly won't be slaying Ganondorf anytime soon, the impact this weapon has had on me has lasted since childhood. Naturally, the Master Sword appears in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. But with numerous appearances, I was curious how powerful it is in TotK and decided to find out.

How much damage does the Master Sword do in TotK (Zelda Tears of the Kingdom)?

In the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the Master Sword had a base damage of 30. We can assume that it remains the same or has increased in Tears of the Kingdom. However, there is no official confirmation of how much damage it deals. But, the Master Sword in Tears of the Kingdom has something Breath of the Wild's blade did not: Fuse.

By fusing items to the Master Sword, you can greatly increase the damage of this weapon. You can also give it different properties, as certain items will imbue different abilities, such as Korok Fronds or Bomb Flowers. However, powerful items like Light Dragon Scales, monster parts, and other weapons can increase its attack power.

You won't be able to use the Master Sword until you repair it, which may take some time. Once you do, the weapon will be restored to its proper state. Like Breath of the Wild, the Master Sword can fire beams while at full health, even when fused with items.
